On the fiction side there is every genre, including horror, mystery and thriller, romance and romantasy, and so many more.\u201d Lisa Ayres, executive director of the San Antonio Book Festival, said in a news release.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The free, family-friendly event is happening Saturday, April 11, at the Central Library and UT San Antonio Southwest Campus in downtown San Antonio. The event, which includes author presentations, panel discussions, book signings, food trucks and more, has drawn more than 22,000 attendees in the past.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>For the first time this year\u2019s event will kick off <a href=\"https:\/\/sabookfestival.org\/event\/san-antonio-book-festival-nowhere-bookshop-present-juliet-faithfull-jenna-bush-hager\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">with a ticketed event<\/a> on Thursday, April 9, at the Central Christian Church, featuring Jenna Bush Hager and Juliet Faithfull. Hager\u2019s media company, Thousand Voices, recently partnered with Random House Publishing Group, which published Faithfull\u2019s debut novel \u201cLiar\u2019s Dice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Also new this year, the festival will feature cookbook authors. San Antonio\u2019s own Curry Boys restaurant chefs, Andrew Ho, Andrew Samia, and Sean Wen, will be promoting their brand-new cookbook, \u201cAsian Smoke: Thai and Southeast Asian Barbecue from the Curry Boys.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And Arnie Segovia, better known as ArnieTex, or everyone\u2019s Tio, will bring his recent cookbook \u201cArnieTex: Over 100 Recipes for Mexican-American Cooking and Texas-Style BBQ.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m so excited to be back in San Antonio for this year\u2019s book fest,\u201d Segovia said in a statement. \u201cTwo of my biggest and favorite book tour events happened here in San Anto and I know this one will be great\u2026 Vamonos!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The event will also include authors, presentations and events catering to children, teens and young adults, including an appearance by Tiffany Hammond with her\u00a0 No. 1 New York Times bestselling picture book \u201cA Day with No Words,\u201d cartoonist and illustrator Zeke Pe\u00f1a and his Caldecott-honored, \u201cTexas-set Sundust.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe work hard to build an author lineup that reflects San Antonio culture, and there will be discussions related to both local and national conversations,\u201d said Anna Dobben, literary director of the San Antonio Book Festival. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Festival gives form to curiosity \u2014 we invite everyone to hear authors talk about their stories, and the stories behind their books,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color has-large-font-size wp-elements-21e897d4831460a555a3666f931bba23\" style=\"color:#b63b3b;padding-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50);padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50)\"><strong>Are you doing your part?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"has-primary-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-7335ae2117966acd189786f559c524cb\" style=\"padding-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50);padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50)\">We\u2019re committed to providing <strong>free, fair journalism for all<\/strong>.
