PHOENIX (AZFamily)<\/b> \u2014 A shooting along a popular stretch in downtown Phoenix left two people hurt late Friday night. <\/p>\n

Around 11:30 p.m., Phoenix police officers received reports of a shooting near 5th and Roosevelt streets<\/a>. When officers arrived, they found a woman and teen boy injured from gunfire.<\/p>\n

Police say the two victims were taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and are expected to be okay. Investigators believe the suspect fled the scene before officers arrived.<\/p>\n

The area was shut down as investigators worked to gather evidence but reopened early Saturday morning. <\/p>\n

The popular First Friday event<\/a>, which occurs along Roosevelt Row, was being held in downtown until 10 p.m. <\/p>\n

No additional details, including a description of the suspect, have been determined at this time. Anyone with information about the shooting is encouraged to contact Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS or 480-TESTIGO for Spanish speakers. The public can also submit a tip anonymously online.<\/a><\/p>\n
