The 32-year-old country singer\u2019s ex-boyfriend, actor Chase Stokes, spoke up in defense of the \u201cCowboys Cry Too\u201d singer after her ex-husband, Morgan Evans, spoke about their divorce while on Bobby Bones\u2019 podcast, \u201cThe BobbyCast<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThis is about the most pathetic excuse of masculinity I\u2019ve ever seen. Get a f\u2013king life,\u201d Stokes wrote in a since-deleted comment under an Instagram post featuring a clip from the podcast.<\/p>\n Bones later shared\u00a0a screenshot of the deleted comment<\/a>\u00a0on his Instagram as part of a video in which he defended Evans. The host stressed that Evans has not publicly spoken about his divorce, saying \u201cI thought he came off really well\u201d in the podcast and \u201cthat he was very kind in his description and his version of events.\u201d<\/p>\n In his response to the criticism, Evans posted a series of photos on his\u00a0Instagram<\/a>\u00a0featuring him doing stereotypical male activities, including carrying a heavy mini fridge and chopping wood, captioning the post, \u201cFeeling pretty masculine today.\u201d<\/p>\n Even Bones got in on the comments section, writing, \u201cI laughed.\u201d<\/p>\n Chase Stokes and Kelsea Ballerini at the 57th CMA Awards at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Nov. 8, 2023. REUTERS<\/p>\n After the back and forth between\u00a0her two exes, Ballerini put her two cents in, posting a meme on her Instagram story Friday, which said, \u201cAnd for the lady, perhaps a f\u2013king break?\u201d<\/p>\n While on Bones\u2019 podcast, Evans said hearing that Ballerini wanted a divorce was unexpected.<\/p>\n \u201cI was not expecting that conversation, no,\u201d he said. \u201cMaybe that was me being naive, but I definitely wasn\u2019t. It took me by surprise. That whole time is such a blur. It almost feels like somebody else, just from where I\u2019m sitting now. ZUMAPRESS.com<\/p>\n Shortly after her divorce from Evans, Ballerini began dating the \u201cOuter Banks\u201d star, and she and Stokes made their red carpet debut together at the CMT Music Awards in April 2023.<\/p>\n The two broke up in September 2025 before\u00a0briefly reconciling\u00a0in December 2025.<\/p>\n \u201cIt looked a lot more dramatic than it was. And that was quite the learning lesson for us,\u201d she told\u00a0Entertainment Tonight<\/a>\u00a0about their reconciliation.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cBut he\u2019s \u2014 I love him so much. We\u2019ve been together for quite a while now and done a lot of life together. And I love love, and I believe in it.
