He previously reached No. 1 with \u201cUnorthodox Jukebox\u201d in 2013, when it took three months to climb to the summit. Over the past week, some users on social media were surprised to learn that his last solo album, 2016\u2019s \u201c24K Magic,\u201d only peaked at No. 2 as Metallica\u2019s \u201cHardwired\u2026 to Self-Destruct\u201d blocked it from the top of the chart. \u201cAn Evening with Silk Sonic,\u201d his 2021 release as one-half of Silk Sonic, topped out at No. 2.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tAs Billboard notes, Mars\u2019 span of 13 years between No. 1s is the longest for any living solo male artist since Paul McCartney\u2019s return to the top in 2018 with \u201cEgypt Station,\u201d marking a 36-year gap. \u201cThe Romantic\u201d got a boost from its 10 vinyl variants, as vinyl sales accounted for 48,000 of the album\u2019s first week. Mars teased the project with its first single \u201cI Just Might,\u201d which became his 10th No. 1 on the Hot 100 and is expected to return to the summit when the chart is unveiled tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tElsewhere on the albums chart, Bad Bunny\u2019s \u201cDeb\u00ed Tirar M\u00e1s Fotos\u201d maintains its hold at No. 2, followed by Morgan Wallen\u2019s \u201cI\u2019m the Problem,\u201d Don Toliver\u2019s \u201cOctane\u201d and Olivia Dean\u2019s \u201cThe Art of Loving.\u201d Megan Moroney\u2019s \u201cCloud 9,\u201d which bowed atop the chart last week, slides to No. 6, while Gorillaz\u2019s new record \u201cThe Mountain\u201d enters at No. 7.
