Iran’s foreign ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baghaei<\/a>, downplayed the likelihood of a ceasefire as long as attacks continue, adding that Iran would continue to defend itself, Iran’s Student News Network reported on Monday.<\/p>\n

“There is no point to talks about anything but defense and crushing retaliations against enemies,” Baghaei said, before reiterating that Tehran has no war to fight with its Muslim neighbors but must target “facilities used by aggressors” for its legitimate defense.<\/p>\n

The foreign ministry spokesperson also denied any Iranian attack against Turkey<\/a>, Azerbaijan, and Cyprus,<\/a> pointing instead to what he called “false flag attacks.”<\/p>\n

Additionally, on Sunday, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf<\/a> said the country will respond \u201cdecisively\u201d to any attack from enemy forces and to any nation that allows its territory to be used by the US against Iran, Iran International reported.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cAlthough we have not yet taken any action to block the Strait of Hormuz<\/a>, the insecurity caused by the enemy’s provocations has confronted the global economy with a lasting crisis,\u201d Ghalibaf said.<\/p>\n

According to the report, he added that Iran is \u201cnot seeking a ceasefire\u201d and warned that an infrastructure war could keep oil prices above $100 for years.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, on Monday, Ghalibaf told Lebanon’s Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri that “attacks against the Zionist aggressors” will continue, and that Iran will deal the US and Israel a blow that will cause US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to regret the operations against the Islamic Regime, the semi-official Tasnim News Agency reported.<\/p>\n

Berri, in return, offered condolences over the airstrike that killed supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and condemned Israel’s airstrikes against Hezbollah in Lebanon, which have intensified over the past week.<\/p>\n
