{"id":644208,"date":"2026-03-09T22:59:15","date_gmt":"2026-03-09T22:59:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/644208\/"},"modified":"2026-03-09T22:59:15","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T22:59:15","slug":"amtrak-bridge-gets-stuck-in-chicago-impacting-metra-service-nbc-chicago","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/644208\/","title":{"rendered":"Amtrak bridge gets stuck in Chicago, impacting Metra service \u2013 NBC Chicago"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An Amtrak bridge in Chicago\u2019s Pilsen neighborhood became stuck in the air Monday, impacting Metra service out of Union Station.<\/p>\n<p>According to Metra officials, the South Branch Bridge, which crosses the Chicago River in Pilsen, became stuck on Monday afternoon, leading to travel impacts for passengers on the Heritage Corridor line.<\/p>\n<p>The line, which services passengers between Union Station and Joliet and makes stops in Willow Springs, Lemont, Romeoville and Lockport, is not currently operating due to the bridge issue, with no estimated time to resume service.<\/p>\n<p>Heritage Corridor train No. 915 was forced to reverse back into Union Station due to the bridge issue, officials said. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Passengers are encouraged to find alternate routes, with the BNSF or Rock Island lines serving as alternatives.
