{"id":645323,"date":"2026-03-10T10:15:13","date_gmt":"2026-03-10T10:15:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/645323\/"},"modified":"2026-03-10T10:15:13","modified_gmt":"2026-03-10T10:15:13","slug":"ross-opens-new-stores-in-southern-california","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/645323\/","title":{"rendered":"Ross opens new stores in Southern California"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Two more discount retail stores have landed in Southern California. <\/p>\n<p>A Ross Dress for Less  has opened in Alhambra \u2014 the city\u2019s second \u2014 and a dd\u2019s Discounts has debuted in North Hollywood.<\/p>\n<p>The openings are a part of Dublin, Calif.-based parent company Ross Stores Inc.\u2019s broader effort to expand its retail footprint across the country. The company has set a goal of opening about 85 new Ross stores and 25 dd\u2019s Discounts stores nationwide in 2026. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are thrilled to kick off our 2026 expansion with new stores that bring great value to our customers and new jobs to communities across the country,\u201d Richard Lietz, the company\u2019s executive vice president of property development, said in a statement. <\/p>\n<p>The decision to open 110 new stores this year was driven by \u201cstrong new store performance in 2025,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p>The company opened 90 stores last year, including a second store on downtown San Francisco\u2019s Market Street. <\/p>\n<p>The new Alhambra Ross is  at 600 East Valley Blvd., roughly a five-minute drive from the existing store in the city. The new dd\u2019s Discounts  in North Hollywood is  at 12711 Sherman Way. <\/p>\n<p>Both stores will be open daily. <\/p>\n<p>Ross  has been publicly traded on the Nasdaq stock exchange since 1985. <\/p>\n<p>The  chain aims to serve shoppers from a wide range of household incomes \u2014 including those who \u201cwant\u201d or \u201cneed\u201d bargains \u2014 and has a mostly female customer base, according to a November investor presentation. Dd\u2019s Discounts, introduced in 2004, targets young and ethnically diverse shoppers from low-to-moderate income households who \u201cneed a bargain.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The company\u2019s net income for the 2025 fiscal year was $2.1 billion and similar to the prior year, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission <a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/investors.rossstores.com\/static-files\/ace70e6a-bf5d-4f63-a2fc-c4eb6af72915\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">filing<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>There are about 1,900 Ross stores across 44 states, Washington, D.C., Guam and Puerto Rico, and about 370 dd\u2019s Discounts stores in 23 states. <\/p>\n<p>Many retailers who claim to have lower prices, including Aldi\u2019s, Dollar General and Trader Joe\u2019s, have rapidly expanded as some customers grapple with high inflation in a <a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/business\/story\/2025-12-22\/tale-of-two-ralphs-k-shaped-economy-looks-like-this-holiday\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">K-shaped economy<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Emeryville-based bargain grocer <a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/business\/story\/2026-03-07\/grocery-outlet-to-close-dozens-of-stores-after-overexpansion\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Grocery Outlet<\/a> recently announced it is closing 36 stores by the end of the year as it had over-expanded. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Two more discount retail stores have landed in Southern California.
