Former New Jersey acting state comptroller<\/a> Kevin Walsh is joining the ranks at Langer Grogan & Diver PC.\n<\/p>\n As part of his practice at the Philadelphia-based firm, Walsh will focus on consumer protection, whistleblower, antitrust and commercial litigation. He will also conduct internal investigations, as well as advise companies and nonprofits on regulatory compliance, the firm said in a press release.<\/a>\n<\/p>\n Walsh joins after six years helming the state\u2019s independent government watchdog agency.<\/p>\n As acting comptroller, Walsh led audits and investigations into state agencies, authorities, municipalities, school districts, public colleges and universities. During his tenure, OSC launched projects focused on pandemic recovery funds, police accountability and nursing home fraud, Langer, Grogan & Diver noted.\n<\/p>\n Prior to his nomination to the post by former Gov. Phil Murphy, Walsh spent 20 years as a civil rights attorney. He served as executive director of Mount Laurel-headquartered Fair Share Housing Center.\n<\/p>\n Walsh\u2019s background also includes an eight-year post as counsel to New Jerseyans for Alternatives to the Death Penalty. The grassroots organization is credited with leading the effort to end the death penalty in New Jersey 19 years ago.<\/a><\/p>\n Protecting public interests<\/p>\n Founded in 2004, Logan, Grogan & Diver focuses on complex litigation \u2013 particularly antitrust and consumer protection matters.\n<\/p>\n In addition to numerous awards for its antitrust work, the firm has earned accolades for its public interest efforts.\u00a0Logan, Grogan & Diver also has an annual social justice fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania Law School that pays the first-year salary of a law graduate entering public interest law<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n Walsh said, \u201cI have spent my career working in the public interest.
