Initially announced back in December 2025, The Boys: Trigger Warning is a VR adventure from publisher Sony Pictures VR and developer ARVORE, and it’ll arrive on Meta Quest 3 headsets on March 26, 2026.

The news comes with a new release date trailer, which shows off more gameplay compared to what we saw in December and includes a few more characters from the show that’ll be featured in the game. It doesn’t, however, confirm if any more of the actors from the show will be voicing their characters.

Back in December, we learned that Laz Alonso would be voicing his character, MM (Mother’s Milk), that Colby Minifie would be in it as Ashley Barrett, and P.J. Byrne would be playing Adam Bourke. Considering the fact that Anthony Starr opted not to play Homelander in the Mortal Kombat 1 version of his character, we’re unlikely to see him participate. But Jensen Ackles and Karl Urban could very well be involved – unless the sound-alike actors they got are just very good at their jobs.

Its release date in a couple of weeks is also timed to be just ahead of the fifth and final season of The Boys premiering on April 8, 2026. It’ll kick off with two episodes, with the rest of the season playing out with a new episode each week.

“Creating a game in set in The Boys universe, our team focused on delivering an experience that felt authentic to the show while giving players a true superhero experience that wouldn’t be possible outside of VR,” said ARVORE’s chief creative officer, Ricardo Laganaro, in a press release. “Thanks to Sony Pictures Entertainment and the show creators, we’ve created something incredibly rare to see in game adaptations for such iconic IPs. We can’t wait to see how fans interact with the story and characters we’ve added to this franchise.”

The story of Trigger Warning follows a family whose trip to a superhero-themed amusement park featuring the Armstrongs, another super family not dissimilar from Vought, takes a dark turn when your character, Lucas Costa, has his kid taken from him. Fortunately (or unfortunately if you’re familiar with the show), the Boys are around the corner and give Lucas a chance to save his son – by pumping his veins with Temp V, a new drug that gives someone superpowers for a day to fight against the Armstrongs and stand a chance of winning.

Trigger Warning is set to arrive on PS VR2 at some point in the future, but for now, that release is set to come “at a later date.” Though characters from the series have appeared in other games, this is the first time that the comic book/television series is getting its own dedicated game. It’ll be interesting to see how it does, especially considering how niche the VR industry remains within the larger gaming industry.

It’s struggling just as much as the larger video game industry is.
