{"id":647963,"date":"2026-03-11T12:22:13","date_gmt":"2026-03-11T12:22:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/647963\/"},"modified":"2026-03-11T12:22:13","modified_gmt":"2026-03-11T12:22:13","slug":"quentin-tarantino-slams-rosanna-arquette-for-trashing-pulp-fiction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/647963\/","title":{"rendered":"Quentin Tarantino slams Rosanna Arquette for trashing Pulp Fiction"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Quentin Tarantino\u00a0accused Rosanna Arquette of chasing headlines after she denounced his use of the N-word in \u201cPulp Fiction.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tarantino slammed Arquette as having a \u201clack of class\u201d for sharing her criticism after she \u201ctook the money.\u201d Arquette played a small role in <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/10\/14\/entertainment\/pulp-fiction-turns-30-eric-stoltz-on-quentin-tarantinos-film\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cPulp Fiction\u201d<\/a> as the wife of Eric Stoltz\u2019s character.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s iconic, a great film on a lot of levels,\u201d Arquette told\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetimes.com\/life-style\/celebrity\/article\/rosanna-arquette-harvey-weinstein-the-moment-charli-xcx-interview-0j3csql9h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">The Times<\/a>. \u201cBut personally, I am over the use of the N-word \u2014 I hate it. I cannot stand that [Tarantino] has been given a hall pass. It\u2019s not art, it\u2019s just racist and creepy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tarantino fired back at Arquette in a letter, according to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2026\/film\/news\/quentin-tarantino-rosanna-arquette-n-word-criticism-1236683144\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Variety<\/a>. Tarantino questioned Arquette\u2019s timing and motives, arguing she benefited from the project before publicly condemning it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI hope the publicity you\u2019re getting from 132 different media outlets writing your name and printing your picture was worth disrespecting me and a film I remember quite clearly you were thrilled to be a part of?\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDo you feel this way now? Very possibly,\u201d Tarantino continued. \u201cBut after I gave you a job, and you took the money, to trash it for what I suspect is very cynical reasons, shows a decided lack of class, no less honor. There is supposed to be an esprit de corps between artistic colleagues. Getty Images for Epic Games<\/p>\n<p>Arquette said Tarantino\u2019s use of the N-word in the film is \u201cjust racist and creepy.\u201d Vu\/Haedrich\/SIPA\/Shutterstock<\/p>\n<p>However, Arquette also took issue with her earnings in her interview.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m the only person who didn\u2019t get a back end [a share of the takings],\u201d she told The Times. \u201cEverybody made money except me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tarantino\u2019s defense of his movies isn\u2019t new. In 2022, he had <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/11\/22\/quentin-tarantino-blasts-critics-who-dont-like-his-films\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">brutal advice for people<\/a> who have criticized his filmmaking.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou talk about being the conductor and the audience being the orchestra,\u201d Chris Wallace told Tarantino during a conversation for his HBO Max talk series. \u201cSo when people say, \u2018Well, there\u2019s too much violence in his movies. He uses the N-word too often.\u2019 You say what?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou should see [something else],\u201d Tarantino answered. \u201cThen see something else. If you have a problem with my movies, then they aren\u2019t the movies to go see. Jackson<\/a> and\u00a0Jamie Foxx, who have both starred in Tarantino\u2019s films, have also defended the prolific director.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s some bulls\u2014,\u201d Jackson once told\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.esquire.com\/entertainment\/movies\/a26454543\/samuel-l-jackson-captain-marvel-interview-2019\/?src=socialflowTW&amp;utm_source=twitter&amp;utm_campaign=socialflowTWESQ&amp;utm_medium=social-media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Esquire<\/a>\u00a0about the backlash. \u201cYou can\u2019t just tell a writer he can\u2019t talk, write the words, put the words in the mouths of the people from their ethnicities, the way that they use their words. You cannot do that, because then it becomes an untruth; it\u2019s not honest. It\u2019s just not honest.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jackson doubled down in the Tarantino documentary \u201cQT8: The First Eight.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou take \u201912 Years a Slave,\u2019 which is supposedly made by an auteur,\u201d Jackson said. \u201cSteve McQueen is very different than Quentin. When you have a song that says [the N-word] in it 300 times, nobody says s\u2014. So it\u2019s OK for Steve McQueen to use [the N-word] because he\u2019s artistically attacking the system and the way people think and feel, but Quentin is just doing it to just strike the blackboard with his nails. That\u2019s not true.
