\n\tShay Mitchell<\/a> (Pretty Little Liars) is the latest actor to be cast in Fox<\/a>\u2018s Baywatch<\/a> sequel series, scheduled to launch as part of the network\u2019s 2026-2027 season.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn a series regular role, Mitchell will play Trina, a former lawyer who walked away from a top-tier firm to dedicate herself to lifeguarding full-time. Trina is the sharpest mind on Baywatch. Passionate and dedicated, she tends to follow her heart \u2026 even if she often uses her considerable intelligence to second-guess herself.<\/p>\n

\n\tMitchell joins previously announced lead\u00a0Stephen Amell<\/a>\u00a0and the series regular ensemble, including\u00a0Jessica Belkin<\/a>\u00a0as Charlie Vale,\u00a0Hassie Harrison<\/a>\u00a0as Nat, Thaddeus LaGrone<\/a>\u00a0as Brad, and Brooks Nader<\/a> as Selene, the sharp-tongued captain of the Zuma Beach lifeguards.\u00a0David Chokachi<\/a>\u00a0will reprise his role of Cody Madison \u2014 who now runs The Shoreline, the unofficially official Baywatch bar and grill \u2014 from the original series in a recurring role.<\/p>\n

\n\tOn\u00a0Baywatch, the wild child Hobie Buchannon (Amell) from the original series is now a Baywatch captain, following in the footsteps of his legendary father Mitch (played by David Hasselhoff in the OG series). Hobie\u2019s world is turned upside down when Charlie (Belkin), the daughter he never knew, shows up on his doorstep, eager to carry on the Buchannon family legacy and become a Baywatch lifeguard alongside her dad.<\/p>\n

\n\tFox has teased that\u00a0Baywatch\u00a0will feature adrenaline-fueled rescues, tangled relationships, complicated chemistry and beachside heroics that defined the original \u2014 now with a new cast donning the show\u2019s signature red swimsuits, contemporary trappings, tensions and challenges and a renewed mission to protect Southern California\u2019s shoreline.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe reboot received\u00a0a 12-episode straight-to-series order<\/a>\u00a0from the broadcast network in September, after having been in development at Fox\u00a0since winter 2024<\/a>. Production is slated\u00a0to begin shooting this spring on\u00a0Venice Beach\u00a0and on the Fox Studio Lot in Century City.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tThe new\u00a0Baywatch\u00a0<\/strong>is co-produced by Fox Entertainment and Fremantle with Nix\u00a0(Burn Notice,\u00a0The Gifted) serving as showrunner and executive producer alongside\u00a0executive producers\u00a0McG,\u00a0Michael Berk,\u00a0Greg Bonann,\u00a0Doug Schwartz, Dante Di Loreto and Mike Horowitz.\u00a0McG will direct the series premiere episode.<\/a>\u00a0Fox Entertainment Global holds all domestic distribution rights, and Fremantle manages all international sales.<\/p>\n
