{"id":648624,"date":"2026-03-11T19:00:19","date_gmt":"2026-03-11T19:00:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/648624\/"},"modified":"2026-03-11T19:00:19","modified_gmt":"2026-03-11T19:00:19","slug":"update-flood-advisory-canceled-for-portions-of-ka%ca%bbu-puna-big-island-now","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/648624\/","title":{"rendered":"UPDATE: Flood advisory canceled for portions of Ka\u02bb\u016b, Puna : Big Island Now"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Update at 5:51 a.m. March 11, 2026:<\/strong> The flood advisory for portions of Puna and Ka\u02bb\u016b that was previously issued until 6:30 a.m. has been canceled.<\/p>\n<p>National Weather Service forecasters in Honolulu report radar shows that heavy rainfall diminished and flooding is no longer expected to pose a threat.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Story originally posted at 3:36 a.m. March 11, 2026:<\/strong> National Weather Service forecasters in Honolulu issued a flood advisory until 6:30 a.m. today (March 11) for eastern and southern portions of the Big Island because of expected flooding caused by excessive rainfall.<\/p>\n<p>Radar indicated at 3:18 a.m. that periods of heavy rain were falling at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour over Ka\u02bb\u016b and Puna along the southeast slopes of the the island.<\/p>\n<p><b>ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW AD<\/b><b>ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW AD<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Some locations that will experience flooding include Hawaiian Paradise Park, Hawai\u02bbi Volcanoes National Park, Wood Valley, P\u0101hala, Volcano, Punalu\u02bbu Black Sand Beach, Kawa Flats, Glenwood, Mountain View, N\u0101\u02bb\u0101lehu, Hawaiian Acres, Orchidland Estates, P\u0101hoa, Kea\u02bbau, Hawaiian Ocean View, Fern Forest, Eden Roc, Fern Acres and Wai\u02bb\u014dhinu.<\/p>\n<p>Minor flooding is expected on roads and in poor drainage areas and streams, as well as water over roadways.
