SAN ANTONIO<\/strong> \u2013 One year has passed since Joanna Holt last hugged her son. She said her family\u2019s loss has not gotten any easier.<\/p>\n

\u201cI miss him so much,\u201d Holt said, looking at the photograph of her son in her living room. \u201cI kiss (the photo) every day, every morning and every evening. I tell him, \u2018I\u2019m so sorry. I want to get justice.\u2019 I promised him that on the day he was buried.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hayden Holt died at the end of February 2025. He was shot and killed<\/a> in Selma after an attempted robbery.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt affected everything,\u201d Joanna Holt said. \u201cI\u2019m no longer me.\u201d<\/p>\n

When asked how Joanna Holt finds her strength, she replied, \u201cthrough God.\u201d <\/p>\n

Joanna said her son\u2019s death has pushed her into advocacy. She said she wants her son to serve as a warning to other parents and wants accountability<\/a>.<\/p>\n

KSAT checked back in with the Selma Police Department and the Bexar County District Attorney\u2019s Office to see where the case stands<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The district attorney\u2019s office said three people have been indicted in connection with Hayden Holt\u2019s murder, and they currently await trial.<\/p>\n

Bexar County online records show the three people are expected back in court in April. <\/p>\n

Selma police told KSAT the department had no new updates to share.<\/p>\n
