Matthew Fox made rare comments about his quiet life in Italy after leaving Hollywood<\/a> more than a decade ago.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love it,\u201d the \u201cLost\u201d alum said of living abroad on Wednesday\u2019s episode of \u201cJimmy Kimmel Live!\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

Fox shared that he\u2019s doing his best to learn the native language.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m getting there,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s not an easy language to learn, but I\u2019m learning it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite not being fluent in Italian, Fox, a licensed private pilot, is still able to fly in his new home country.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe language of aviation is English, even in Europe,\u201d he explained, confirming that\u2019s also the case in Asian countries as well. <\/p>\n

\u201cLucky for us. No wonder everyone hates us,\u201d Kimmel, 58, quipped. <\/p>\n

\u201cExactly,\u201d Fox replied with a laugh.<\/p>\n

Fox was famous for his roles in \u201cParty of Five,\u201d which ran from 1994 to 2000, and \u201cLost,\u201d which aired from 2004 to 2013, after which he largely stepped away from acting.<\/p>\n

During a recent interview with Variety<\/a>, Fox said he took his acting hiatus \u201cto engage really intensely with my family.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI had missed some of their childhood because I was on set all the time with \u2018Lost\u2019 and doing films and promoting everything,\u201d he said of his kids, Byron, now 25, and Kyle, now 28, whom he shares with wife Margherita Ronchi.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was the right moment for me to step back and take a moment and engage with the people that I love and care about the most in the world,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

In 2008, Fox told People<\/a> that his family was considering moving to Oregon for a quieter life. <\/p>\n

\u201cI enjoy fishing, hiking and skiing,\u201d he shared. \u201cThe mountains and fresh air and all these things are available pretty easily in Oregon without having to drive a long distance.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fox is back in the spotlight for his role in the new Taylor Sheridan series \u201cThe Madison,\u201d<\/a> which centers on a New York City family who relocates to Montana\u2019s Madison River Valley after a devastating plane crash kills two relatives.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The show also stars Michelle Pfeiffer, Kurt Russell and Patrick J. Adams. <\/p>\n

On \u201cJimmy Kimmel Live!,\u201d Fox said the show\u2019s script was \u201cfantastic.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, Fox said he couldn\u2019t divulge more about the project since \u201cthere\u2019s too many spoilers.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBut it\u2019s a great series,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
