\n\tThe fashion mogul once again opened up her Beverly Hills home for a celebration of this year\u2019s female Oscar nominees, a tradition von Furstenberg started 13 years ago after noticing no one specifically recognized the women behind the awards season films.<\/p>\n

\n\tUpon arrival at her stunning property, guests were met with a large sign listing all of the names and categories of this year\u2019s recognized women, with nominees encouraged to sign the board and given a golden sticker to wear for the afternoon. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe event, co-hosted by\u00a0Demi Moore,\u00a0Jane Fonda,\u00a0Nicole Avant Sarandos and\u00a0Tracee Ellis Ross, welcomed a starry group that included Gwyneth Paltrow, Katy Perry, Quinta Brunson, Fran Drescher, Grace Van Patten, Rita Wilson, Tig Notaro, Ruth E. Carter and Paris Hilton, in addition to a number of nominees across documentary, animation, costume design, sound, production design, short film and casting. Guests mingled both inside the home and front yard before making way to an outdoor lunch on the grass, when von Furstenberg kicked off with some brief remarks. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s very important that you know who everybody is because then you make new friends, and since you are all in the same industry \u2014 an industry that is not necessarily pro, pro women \u2014 I think it\u2019s very important that the executive meets the talent meets the costume and all of that,\u201d she told the intimate group of the event\u2019s value. Von Furstenberg also took a moment to shout out Anita Hill as a special guest, saying \u201cwe have some very strong women here. The strongest of all is Anita,\u201d as Hill stood up to applause. \u201cAnita went on television, into the Senate and talked about penis. You\u2019ve got to be brave for that.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tThe designer went on to announce all of the films with female nominees, with a moment of celebration for each, as she concluded, \u201cHere we are a big family. Enjoy the food, enjoy the company, make connection and remember to be a badass, and kind. Remember to be kind, and remember to get the habit of making a connection.\u201d <\/p>\n
