\n\tJimmy Kimmel<\/a> knows that publicists have a difficult job when their clients become the center of a scandal after making public remarks.<\/p>\n

\n\tTimoth\u00e9e Chalamet<\/a> recently received backlash<\/a> over his comments about ballet and opera<\/a>, and Kimmel took a swipe at it during his acceptance speech at the 2026 ICG Publicists Awards<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe late-night talk show host took the stage at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel on Friday, March 13, to accept the President Awards honor and made a joke amid the fallout the Marty Supreme star is facing.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cPublicists have a very difficult job, especially when your clients have strong opinions about opera and ballet,\u201d Kimmel joked. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe audience burst out in laughter at the quip, and Kimmel continued, \u201cRemember when they used to say, \u2018There\u2019s no such thing as bad publicity?\u2019 That was a lot of Kanye\u2019s and Diddy\u2019s ago.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn a CNN & Variety Town Hall, Chalamet said that \u201cno one cares about [opera or ballet] anymore,\u201d and the backlash was swift.<\/p>\n

\n\tChalamet\u2019s comments have prompted reactions from the ballet community, which included ballet dancer Misty Copeland, who was featured in a promo for Marty Supreme.<\/p>\n

\n\tAt an event for Aveeno, Copeland said, \u201cThere\u2019s a reason that the opera and ballet have been around for over 400 years.\u201d She also made a comment directly about Chalamet, saying, \u201c\u201dI mean, he wouldn\u2019t be an actor and have the opportunities he has as a movie star if it weren\u2019t for opera and ballet and their relevance in that medium.
