\n\tSarah Michelle Gellar<\/a> was not always keen on reprising her role as Buffy<\/a> the Vampire Slayer\u00a0after the series ended in 2003, following seven seasons.<\/p>\n

\n\tHowever, as Gellar has signed up to return to the Buffy-verse in Buffy the Vampire Slayer<\/a>: New Sunnydale, she has reflected on never closing the door on the possibilities that may arise.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI actually like when people bring up that I said \u2018never,\u2019 because I really felt that way,\u201d Gellar told ComicBook<\/a>. \u201cSo, lesson learned, first of all, young children\u2026 Never say never. Say, \u2018I don\u2019t see it happening,\u2019 but don\u2019t say \u2018never,\u2019 because then you have egg on your face.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tShe continued, \u201cBut I truly thought that\u2019s where I was at. I never heard a take or a reason to do it. Then Chlo\u00e9 Zhao came to me, and she had the reasons, and she had the take. Also, I was in a different place. The world was in a different place. With that being said, it\u2019s still taken us four years to get to this place because I would say, \u2018Yes,\u2019 and then I would call a month later and say, \u2018No. No, no, no. I can\u2019t.\u2019 I\u2019m Cameron Frye from Ferris Bueller. \u2018Again, again, again\u2026’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWith Chlo\u00e9 Zhao attached to direct the pilot of the Buffy reboot, many would want to work alongside the Oscar-winning director, but Gellar reveals she also shot the filmmaker down initially.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI just asked people to give me the time and understand that it took us six years to get a sequel to Ready or Not. When you want to do things right, it takes time. Mind you, I also said no to Chloe many times in the beginning, as well. Her passion, and her reasoning for wanting to do it, and why now, and why it is necessary.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDuring an appearance on the\u00a0Shut Up, Evan\u00a0podcast<\/a>, Gellar opened up about what led her to accept returning as Buffy and work with Zhao.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cChlo\u00e9 Zhao came to me and not just her passion, because I\u2019ve seen people with passion before, but she knew how to go into the world. She knew what the world was, and she knew the way,\u201d Gellar said. \u201cAnd that was the first time I said, \u2018Maybe, could I possibly do this?
