Maybe Jimbo Fisher isn’t done yet.<\/p>\n
It seemed like the 60-year-old former FSU coach may have been done with coaching after failing to get one of the open positions during this offseason. Fisher was a great voice on football coverage for the ACC Network this past season, and it’s something he could continue doing for a long time. But that itch to teach and develop<\/a> players for high-level competition never goes away.<\/p>\n The 2013 National Championship coach stopped by Godby High School to speak to the players earlier this week and even in the few seconds of the speech that we hear, it’s easy to see that Fisher still loves being in front of a team.\u00a0<\/p>\n Jimbo Fisher came and talked to the football team today and it was everything you expected from a \ud83d\udc10 pic.twitter.com\/7jjMK3hAJK<\/a><\/p>\n \u2014 John Holston (@CoachHolston) March 12, 2026<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Jimbo Fisher shares words of wisdom with Tallahassee HS team<\/p>\n Even if Fisher doesn’t return to coaching at the top level, I love to see instances like these when someone that’s been successful in their profession passes on a little bit of knowledge to a younger group. It’s an experience that many of those kids will never forget, and I’m sure they were inspired and motivated after he spoke with them.\u00a0<\/p>\n Over the past season, there were plenty of grumblings from FSU fans about Fisher coming back and whether it would be a good thing or not<\/a>. The arguments are fun, but the chances of Fisher returning to FSU are very slim. However, that doesn’t mean that he’s not going to coach somewhere again. You heard rumors about Fisher being linked to open jobs at Arkansas, Oklahoma State, Auburn and a few others.\u00a0<\/p>\n Don’t be surprised if Fisher’s name pops up again as this season rolls along and coaches get thrown off the hot seat and into the unemployment line. But if he decides to dive deeper into TV work and make more appearances speaking to high school players,, that would be understandable too. It’s a much less stressful gig that would still keep him close to the sport.<\/p>\n\n
