Rodeo officials also said there was no gun, despite social media chatter.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">A few fights broke out, but those were dispersed by HPD officers. <\/p>\n<ul class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 kDvXdO font_openSans articleList\">\n<li class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__StackBase-sc-1fnzlkn-7 ecGWWE iQviKm\"\/><\/ul>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">On Saturday night, Houston Rodeo officials said they closed the carnival \u201cout of an abundance of caution\u201d after a group began running. The situation caused a chain reaction, and more people started running.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__StackBase-sc-1fnzlkn-7 bqJyUE iQviKm block-quote\">\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 ewwUYq\">\u201cA group of individuals began running in the carnival area, which prompted others nearby to run. Law enforcement engaged quickly and we are not aware of any injuries at this time. Out of an abundance of caution, the carnival closed early.
