BAINBRIDGE, Ga. (WCTV) – The Bainbridge High School Band is heading to New York City this weekend for its 19th national appearance and its first opportunity to march in New York.<\/p>\n
The band is scheduled to perform in the St. Patrick\u2019s Day Parade on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Along the way, students are making several stops to take in historic sites and experiences before arriving in New York. The group traveled through Philadelphia, where students visited Independence Hall and saw the Liberty Bell.<\/p>\n
The band also stopped in New Jersey for a riverboat dinner cruise before continuing the trip north.<\/p>\n
Students said they were excited about the chance to travel and experience the trip together.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis will be my last trip with the band and the thing I\u2019m most excited about is just the experience of going,\u201d said Cameron Whigham, a senior band member. <\/p>\n
\u201cOne day I want to be able to live in New York, so it\u2019s exciting to preview what my future might look like, especially with my friends. I think the friends you make in high school are really important, so I\u2019m glad to have a memory like this that I\u2019ll be able to remember forever.\u201d<\/p>\n
While in the city, students are also expected to explore Times Square and attend a Broadway show.<\/p>\n
The St. Patrick\u2019s Day Parade is scheduled to begin Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. in New York City.<\/p>\n
