After a hot and sunny Saturday, North Texas is headed into a windy Sunday with parts of the region under a red flag warning<\/a> for much of the day. <\/p>\n

The National Weather<\/a> Service\u2019s Fort Worth office has issued a warning for near-critical to critical fire weather conditions. The warning will be in effect until 9 p.m. Sunday. <\/p>\n

This warning indicates extreme fire weather conditions are either occurring now or are likely to occur because of a combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and dry vegetation. <\/p>\n

\u201cAvoid all outside burning and welding today,\u201d the warning said. \u201cDo not toss lit cigarette butts outside.\u201d <\/p>\n

Sunday is starting cloudy, then eventually clearing up after mid-morning, the weather service\u2019s forecast said. Day temperatures are expected to top out near 78 degrees before dropping as low as 35 at night. <\/p>\n

The weather service has also issued a wind advisory until 1 a.m. Monday, with gusts as high as 45 mph. <\/p>\n

\u201cWinds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles,\u201d the advisory said. \u201cResidents may wish to take action to secure trash cans, lawn furniture, and other lightweight outdoor objects that may be blown around in the strong winds.\u201d<\/p>\n

The coming week is forecast to start off slightly cooler with day temperatures in the 50s and 60s. Temperatures are expected to climb somewhere around Wednesday to the 70s and 80s again. <\/p>\n

Next weekend is going to be very hot with temperatures in the 90s during the day. <\/p>\n
