A Venezuelan immigrant operating a mobile car wash in Queens was shot and killed Friday night \u2014 and locals believe an ongoing turf battle over business may have sparked the bloodshed. <\/p>\n
Jairo Javier Vinces-Cobena\u2019s was gunned down by a shooter riding a moped around the corner from his home on 55th Avenue near 97th Place in Corona at about 8 p.m., according to cops.\u00a0<\/p>\n
His body was found riddled with bullets, leaving the sidewalk stained with blood. <\/p>\n
EMS rushed the 36-year-old victim to Elmhurst Hospital in critical condition but he died, police said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

No arrests were made as of Saturday night.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The victim has been in the country for three or four years and started a corner car wash with friends, said Luca Estrella, owner of Estrella Auto Care Center.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cThey got into a big argument last year and someone got stabbed,\u201d recalled Estrella, who worked on the victim\u2019s automobile. \u201cHe was buying and selling cars \u2013 a young entrepreneur.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Estrella believes the shooting might have been over the business.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s like a fight for power,\u201d he said. \u201cYou got people trying to make it in the streets. The mobile car wash is at almost every corner. It\u2019s like a war zone.\u201d<\/p>\n
The victim always seemed happy, Estrella said.<\/p>\n
\u201cTo me, he always said \u2018Hello,\u2019 laughing, smiling, happy,\u201d the shop owner said. \u201cI never saw him as someone violent, disrespectful or going for vengence.\u201d<\/p>\n
The victim\u2019s neighbor said she heard the gunshots and what sounded like a woman\u2019s scream.<\/p>\n
\u201cI heard three gun shots back to back and then a couple of seconds after I heard somebody scream, \u2018Oh my God!\u2019 in Spanish,\u201d said the neighbor, who didn\u2019t want to be identified. \u201cIt sounded like a woman.\u201d<\/p>\n

The neighbor didn\u2019t leave her home but said she saw police arriving from her window.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m scared,\u201d she said. \u201cThere seems to be a lot of commotions around here.
