The limited engagement will run from October 28 through November 8, 2026, kicking off City Center’s 2026–2027 season.

The two-week run opens with a gala benefit performance on October 28 and will take place at New York City Center on West 55th Street. Performances are scheduled throughout the run, including evening shows Tuesday through Friday and matinee-evening doubleheaders on Saturdays.

Directed by David Mendizábal, the production will be presented as a concert staging—a City Center specialty that focuses on the music and performances with minimal sets and staging. Casting and additional members of the creative team haven’t been announced.

First premiering on Broadway in 2008, In the Heights is what helped launch Miranda into the theatrical stratosphere well before Hamilton made him a household name. The musical blends hip-hop, Latin rhythms and traditional Broadway sounds to tell the story of Washington Heights residents chasing dreams but holding tight to their community over the span of three summer days.

At the center of the story is Usnavi, a bodega owner who dreams of returning to the Dominican Republic while trying to build a future in the neighborhood he calls home. The musical’s score and strong storytelling earned it four Tony Awards (including Best Musical) and a finalist spot for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

City Center leaders say bringing the show back to New York feels especially fitting. “The musical captures the rhythms, resilience and richness of the communities that define this city,” said Jenny Gersten, City Center’s vice president and artistic director of musical theater, in a statement.

If you want to be in the room where the bodega beats drop again, tickets start at $45 with fees included. They’ll go on sale in phases beginning this spring: May 7 at noon for City Center members; May 20 at noon for Encores! subscribers; and May 21 at noon for the general public. Tickets will be available through NYCityCenter.org.

Considering the show’s New York roots—and the fact that this run lasts just under two weeks—you may want to move fast when sales open. Chances to revisit In the Heights in the city that inspired it don’t come around every day.

New York City Center has announced that In the Heights, the Tony Award–winning musical by Lin-Manuel Miranda and…

[5122
5229,31028,405,403,58669,5226,5225,5228,5227,1148,67,586,132,5230,68,2969
0":"post-660176","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-new-york","8":"tag-america","9":"tag-categories-theater","10":"tag-new-york","11":"tag-new-york-city","12":"tag-news-theater-performance","13":"tag-newyork","14":"tag-newyorkcity","15":"tag-ny","16":"tag-nyc","17":"tag-theater","18":"tag-united-states","19":"tag-united-states-of-america","20":"tag-unitedstates","21":"tag-unitedstatesofamerica","22":"tag-us","23":"tag-usa
["GET
