Slow internet can be an absolute hindrance, especially for gamers. Not only can slower internet speeds result in lag spikes while playing online multiplayer games, but given new titles are often in excess of 100GB, they can sometimes take days to fully download if you’re stuck using aged broadband.<\/p>\n

For those that require the best of the best speeds, Sky has quietly dropped the price of its 900Mbps offering <\/strong><\/a>down from \u00a342 per month to \u00a338, saving shoppers \u00a396 across the length of the full contract. While this is ideal for gamers, the higher speeds also benefit others in the house, especially those who watch Netflix or work from home.<\/p>\n

However, shoppers will need to be quick if they want to take advantage of the cheaper price. Sky has confirmed that the deal will only be available until July 23, which gives folks just over a week to get an installation booked [via Mirror Online<\/a>].<\/p>\n

The Gigafast package<\/strong><\/a> also includes Sky\u2019s latest Max Hub with WiFi 6 technology, which is capable of providing higher speeds than Sky\u2019s older routers through intelligent cloud optimisation to give users the best and smoothest connection. What\u2019s more, Sky is now among the providers to introduce the One Touch Switch scheme, which means customers don\u2019t have to contact their old provider when they switch.<\/p>\n

Instead, Sky will do the leg work on their behalf. Shoppers looking to keep costs down can consider slower broadband speeds if they don\u2019t need the fastest connection. Other options include Full Fibre 300<\/strong><\/a> (\u00a328) and Full Fibre 500<\/a> <\/strong>(\u00a331).<\/p>\n

It\u2019s worth noting that Sky\u2019s broadband contracts<\/strong><\/a> run for 24-months, with price on the Gigafast plan reverting to the then-standard price \u2013 currently \u00a349 \u2013 after this period. However, at this point members are free to shop around and cancel their plan.<\/p>\n

Like most providers, Sky states that its prices \u2018may change\u2019 during the plans\u2019 minimum term. In April, Sky implemented a 6.2% increase on its broadband and TV contracts, suggesting we may see a similar change come April 2026.<\/p>\n

Sky\u2019s latest sale puts it head-to-head with Virgin Media, which offers a rival broadband plan offering speeds up to 1,130Mbps. For \u00a329.99, Virgin\u2019s Gig1 Fibre Broadband<\/strong><\/a> delivers the provider\u2019s fastest broadband speed, but shoppers must enter their postcode into the website to check the speeds available in their area.<\/p>\n

Both Sky and Virgin BT\u2019s comparable broadband offering, the \u00a340.99 900Mbps plan<\/strong><\/a>, but to sweeten the deal, customers signing up for this plan will also receive a \u00a350 BT reward card. Many Sky customers have shared their positive experience with the brand on Trustpilot, where one five-star review says: \u201cI have been with Sky over 11 years. I have never had any problems with the broadband, amazing speed they always give me amazing deals never gone down and never had to have an engineer come out. Would highly recommend.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another says: \u201cCan only give Sky five stars, their customer service is second to none. We have had to call them out twice due to broadband issues and they have been prompt on both occasions and sorted the issues straight away.\u201d<\/p>\n
