All rights reserved.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">On Monday, the city and the U.S. Navy announced the ships that will be participating:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 kDvXdO font_openSans articleList\">\n<li class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__StackBase-sc-1fnzlkn-7 ecGWWE iQviKm\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.navy.mil\/Resources\/Fact-Files\/Display-FactFiles\/Article\/2169814\/amphibious-assault-ships-lhdlhar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.navy.mil\/Resources\/Fact-Files\/Display-FactFiles\/Article\/2169814\/amphibious-assault-ships-lhdlhar\/\">USS Kearsarge<\/a> (LHD-3), a Wasp-class amphibious assault ship designed for multi-purpose operations, including troop transport and aircraft support. <\/li>\n<li class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__StackBase-sc-1fnzlkn-7 ecGWWE iQviKm\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.navy.mil\/Resources\/Fact-Files\/Display-FactFiles\/Article\/2171607\/littoral-combat-ship-class-lcs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.navy.mil\/Resources\/Fact-Files\/Display-FactFiles\/Article\/2171607\/littoral-combat-ship-class-lcs\/\">USS Minneapolis-St. Paul<\/a> (LCS-21), a Freedom-class littoral combat ship optimized for operations in near-shore environments with high speed and agility.<\/li>\n<li class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__StackBase-sc-1fnzlkn-7 ecGWWE iQviKm\">\n<p>USS Cooperstown (LCS-23), also a Freedom-class littoral combat ship sharing the same advanced capabilities for coastal missions. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__StackBase-sc-1fnzlkn-7 ecGWWE iQviKm\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dcms.uscg.mil\/Our-Organization\/Assistant-Commandant-for-Acquisitions-CG-9\/Programs\/Surface-Programs\/Fast-Response-Cutters\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.dcms.uscg.mil\/Our-Organization\/Assistant-Commandant-for-Acquisitions-CG-9\/Programs\/Surface-Programs\/Fast-Response-Cutters\/\">USCGC Edgar Culbertson<\/a> (WPC-1137), a Sentinel-class fast response cutter equipped for a range of missions including search and rescue, law enforcement, and port security.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Fleet Week Houston will feature public ship tours, community outreach events, educational demonstrations and interactions across Houston with more than 1,000 Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cWe\u2019re excited to welcome Fleet Week to our city in just a few weeks.
