If you\u2019re in need of a good laugh<\/a>, this local news channel interview of a Rochester, N.Y. man and his encounter with a what say was a mountain lion is just what you need.<\/p>\n

Curtis Jones told 13WHAM<\/a> in a hilarious clip \u2014 during which held a bat for his \u201cprotection\u201d \u2014 that after he noticed people running last week, he saw exactly what was causing the commotion: a large, wild cat.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter I see the people run, I just see something big, just walking just right over there, it went right over there I swear, I promise you, it went right over there,\u201d Jones recalled. \u201cAnd it said, \u2018Rawr,\u2019 and I just kept walking. I seen it, seeing me, see it, so in my head I\u2019m like, \u2018Nah, I got to go man, I\u2019m out.’\u201d Jones said after the unidentified mammal, who was seen lurking around his neighborhood, he \u201cheard the \u2018Rawr,\u2019 I felt the \u2018Rawr.\u2019 I know he be pushing, I know that.\u201d <\/p>\n

Jones added how the suspected mountain lion \u201cwas just walking\u201d and \u201cslithering\u201d during Thursday\u2019s viral interview, declaring how he will \u201ckeep this bat right here, man, just in case.\u201d A shelter-in-place was ordered in the area, but it was lifted after authorities couldn\u2019t verify the presence of a wild animal. <\/p>\n

\u201cI am going to protect us, I ain\u2019t going to let nothing happen to us, nothing,\u201d Jones said. Police also said they received numerous calls of reported sightings just after midnight Thursday.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey ain\u2019t find it last night, it\u2019s still out here, it could be out here in one of these bushes or something,\u201d Jones continued. \u201cYou know, a mountain lion, it be \u2018rawr.\u2019 They be crawling and\u2026 serious.\u201d Jones made it crystal clear he is not Jazmine Sullivan<\/a>, who sung she\u2019s not \u201cscared of lions, and tigers, and bears,\u201d cause he \u201cdon\u2019t play with lions, I don\u2019t play with tigers, bears, nothing in the wild, I don\u2019t play with those, I promise you.\u201d If that wasn\u2019t enough, he \u201cdon\u2019t even do rollercoasters. I\u2019m good.\u201d<\/p>\n

Folks couldn\u2019t help but comment about Jones\u2019 hilarious encounter.<\/p>\n

Despite how funny his recollection of events may be, a huge mammal roaming the residential streets of Rochester is rightfully concerning.<\/p>\n

The Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) told 13WHAM<\/a> that based on doorbell footage and the measurements taken on-site, the animal in the video does appear to possibly be a cougar\u2013 assuming the video wasn\u2019t altered. If it is a cougar, it\u2019s most likely not a wild cat that arrived to the region on its own, but rather an illegal pet, per the DEC, that was previously held captive. <\/p>\n
