Additionally, she earmarked $500,000 for pool maintenance and just under $2 million for lifeguard staffing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cIf we can\u2019t figure out how to keep the pools open, it\u2019s easy to imagine the public wouldn\u2019t have much trust in us to do the big things,\u201d Deegan said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">City Council President Kevin Carrico expressed encouragement for the balanced budget proposal, which doesn\u2019t rely on reserve funds. Or things that maybe don\u2019t align with us that we can switch them out or make changes. That\u2019s what the budget process is for.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The Finance Committee will begin reviewing the budget on August 7, marking the start of a detailed examination process.
