P\u00e9rez shared a message March 17 offering prayerful greetings to the Muslim community in Philadelphia on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr on March 20, which concludes Ramadan\u2019s month-long vigil of fasting, prayer, and works of mercy.<\/p>\n<p>***<br \/>\u201cMy Dear Friends in the Muslim Community,<\/p>\n<p>On behalf of the Catholic Church of Philadelphia, I extend prayerful greetings as you prepare to celebrate Eid al-Fitr! May you be filled with peace and joy as you conclude Ramadan\u2019s month-long vigil of fasting, prayer, and works of mercy.<\/p>\n<p>This period of reflection takes place during a time of global unease and uncertainty. As peoples of various faith traditions throughout the region, we have celebrated or will soon celebrate powerful holy days. We take these occasions to lift up our hearts in prayer for peace in our families, peace in our communities, and peace in our world.<\/p>\n<p>Please know that on behalf of all the Catholic faithful of our region, I pray for those intentions.
