The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has announced a new dress code policy for all patrons who attend the rodeo as part of its updated code of conduct.<\/p>\n

This new dress code will take effect immediately, according to rodeo officials. According to the new dress code, proper attire must be worn on Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (HLSR) Show grounds at all times, including shirts and appropriate footwear. HLSR reserves the right to deny admission to or remove any person wearing attire that is considered inappropriate or attire that could detract from the experience with other guests. Clothing that is not appropriate for the HLSR Show grounds includes, but is not limited to, clothing with objectionable material (including obscene language or graphics), excessively torn cloth, visible undergarments, and\/or clothing which, by nature, exposes excessive portions of the skin that may be viewed as inappropriate for a family environment. Wearing clothing, visible tattoos or any other attire bearing the name, insignia, colors, or other indicia of affiliation to a criminal street gang is prohibited on HLSR Show grounds.<\/p>\n

In addition, rodeo officials emphasized that “this is a family-friendly event, and we expect guests to act accordingly, including wearing appropriate attire and demonstrating behavior that reflects the spirit of the Rodeo.<\/p>\n

This development comes ahead of\u00a0Sunday, March 22, when Cody Johnson plays at RODEOHOUSTON with special guests Jon Pardi & Randy Houser.<\/p>\n

Patrons agree with Houston Rodeo dress code<\/p>\n

Across social media, patrons are not surprised by the updated code of conduct.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m honestly shocked the Houston Rodeo didn\u2019t have a dress code before. Most of them do, at least unofficially,” one individual said on X<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Another expected the dress code before it was even announced.<\/p>\n

The code of conduct also states that guests can be denied entry or removed for inappropriate clothing.<\/p>\n

Not all reactions to the new dress code are positive; One social media account claimed the new enforcement is a form of policing.<\/p>\n

“Dress code for the rodeo? why is this even a conversation???? yall police as F—,” the account posted to X<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Though, Fox26Houston also posted a live poll<\/a>, with most in the replies agreeing with the added dress code restrictions.<\/p>\n

This year \u2014 2026 \u2014 has also seen a rise in popularity across the event, with crowd being more abundant throughout. The new dress code is to be enforced immediately.<\/p>\n
