{"id":664450,"date":"2026-03-18T13:06:15","date_gmt":"2026-03-18T13:06:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/664450\/"},"modified":"2026-03-18T13:06:15","modified_gmt":"2026-03-18T13:06:15","slug":"afroman-clashes-with-adams-county-police-in-court-as-one-officer-left-in-tears-over-music-video-about-failed-police-raid","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/664450\/","title":{"rendered":"Afroman clashes with Adams County police in court \u2014 as one officer left in tears over music video about failed police raid"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Because he got raided.<\/p>\n<p>A flamboyantly dressed Afroman clashed with Ohio law enforcement in court Tuesday, leaving one deputy in tears as the rapper testified in a lawsuit filed by a sheriff\u2019s office over his <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/03\/25\/rapper-afroman-sued-for-using-police-raid-footage-in-videos\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">2022 satirical music video.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The 51-year-old \u201cBecause I Got High\u201d rapper, whose real name is Joseph Foreman, blamed the Adams County Sheriff\u2019s Office for the high-profile court case after it executed a search warrant at his home in August 2022.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll of this is their fault,\u201d Foreman, clad in a red, white and blue suit with matching sunglasses, told the court on Tuesday, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wcpo.com\/news\/local-news\/rapper-afroman-heads-to-trial-in-lawsuit-filed-by-adams-county-sheriffs-deputies-over-music-video\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">according to WCPO. <\/a><\/p>\n<p>Rapper Afroman testifies in Adams County court during his suit against the sheriff\u2019s office on March 17, 2026. WCPO 9,  \/Facebook<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf they hadn\u2019t wrongly raided my house, there would be no lawsuit, I would not know their names, they wouldn\u2019t be on my home surveillance system, and there would be no songs \u2026 my money would still be intact.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Afroman wrote the song \u201cLemon Pound Cake\u201d about the raid on his Winchester home, using security footage of officers storming side.<\/p>\n<p>The song title was inspired by one of the cops in the raid, who had glanced at a lemon pound cake in the kitchen inside the home.<\/p>\n<p>Four deputies, two sergeants and a detective with the sheriff\u2019s office filed the suit alleging that the music video, which has been viewed over 3 million times since December 2022, defamed them, invaded their constitutional privacy and was an intentional infliction of emotional distress.<\/p>\n<p>The agents had been acting on a warrant asserting probable cause for narcotics being stored and kidnappings taking place on the property.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>No evidence of criminal activity was found on the property, and no charges were filed.<\/p>\n<p>Adams County sheriff\u2019s agents outside Foreman\u2019s home during the raid in August 2022. Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>Lisa Phillips, an Adams County deputy sheriff, was called into work to help execute the warrant despite being off duty that day, she told the court,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/WCPO9\/videos\/977928851468000\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"> according to the outlet.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Phillips has been a target of Foreman\u2019s satire as he released several posts, including a 13-minute music video that featured highly suggestive innuendos directed at the official.<\/p>\n<p>Phillips broke out in tears as the video was played in court on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, another official on the raid, Sgt. Randy Walters, was questioned on the type of harassment from Foreman he had been the subject of since the raid.<\/p>\n<p>During his testimony, Walters was asked if he had been called a \u201cson of a bitch,\u201d with the sergeant saying he was, but nothing that was published online.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday night, hours after the trial had adjourned for the day, Foreman <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ogafroman\/status\/2034070878107881497?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">shared a video<\/a> to his social media accounts featuring him singing, \u201cRandy Walter\u2019s a son of a bitch.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Because he got raided.
