A major street in Fort Worth\u2019s Cultural District fully closes next week as production continues on the third season of Taylor Sheridan\u2019s \u201cLioness.”<\/p>\n
A portion of University Drive \u2014 between West Lancaster Avenue and West Freeway \u2014 shuts off to traffic starting at midnight March 24 through 4 a.m. March 26 for filming that includes driving, stunts and collision scenes, according to a city permit<\/a>.<\/p>\n Guests visiting the Fort Worth Botanic Garden on those days must enter and exit through the venue\u2019s Trail Drive gate, which is accessible from Montgomery Street. The botanic garden will remain opening during its normal hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.\u00a0<\/p>\n A spokesperson for the botanic garden did not respond to a request for comment.\u00a0<\/p>\n Police officers will be on-site to facilitate traffic, and all local residents and businesses will have access to their properties.\u00a0<\/p>\n The street closure is the latest accommodation as \u201cLioness\u201d films across Fort Worth. Crews closed off areas in the Berkeley Place and Ryan Place<\/a> neighborhoods in October.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cLioness\u201d follows CIA operative Joe McNamara \u2014 played by Academy Award winner Zoe Salda\u00f1a \u2014 as she trains and leads female agents to go undercover and assassinate dangerous terrorists. The series also stars Nicole Kidman and Morgan Freeman.\u00a0<\/p>\n Filming for the first season took place in Delaware, Maryland; Washington, D.C.; Paris, France; and Spain before the TV series shifted its primary site to North Texas.\u00a0<\/p>\n Sheridan, who is from Fort Worth, was one of several Texas filmmakers and actors who pushed state lawmakers last year to grow investment into the film industry.
