{"id":66607,"date":"2025-07-15T04:21:10","date_gmt":"2025-07-15T04:21:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/66607\/"},"modified":"2025-07-15T04:21:10","modified_gmt":"2025-07-15T04:21:10","slug":"mta-launches-g-line-signal-upgrade-disrupts-service-for-brooklyn-riders","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/66607\/","title":{"rendered":"MTA launches G line signal upgrade; disrupts service for Brooklyn riders"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The MTA has officially begun a major signal modernization project on the G line, with Brooklyn commuters feeling the brunt of the impact this summer.<\/p>\n<p>The $368 million project will replace the line\u2019s aging signal system, some of which dates back to the 1930s, with modern Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC), aimed at making service faster and more reliable.<\/p>\n<p>The full upgrade is expected to be completed by 2027 and will include new open-gangway trains.<\/p>\n<p>Starting this week, there will be no G train service between Court Square and Bedford\u2013Nostrand Avenues on most weeknights and weekends through mid-August.<\/p>\n<p>Riders are already expressing frustration.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s going to affect me a lot.
