{"id":666074,"date":"2026-03-19T04:54:14","date_gmt":"2026-03-19T04:54:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/666074\/"},"modified":"2026-03-19T04:54:14","modified_gmt":"2026-03-19T04:54:14","slug":"plane-crashes-at-broomes-roebuck-bay","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/666074\/","title":{"rendered":"Plane crashes at Broome&#8217;s Roebuck Bay"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">One person has been injured after a light aircraft<strong> <\/strong>crashed on a beach in central Broome, police say.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">The plane crashed into shallow waters at<strong> <\/strong>Roebuck Bay, at about 11:25am, according to witnesses.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Police said one person sustained non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">The ABC understands there were four people on board, and the plane had taken off from Broome Airport shortly before it crashed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Emergency services are at the scene, including marine rescue, police and St John ambulance, police said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Plane was &#8216;dipping quite low&#8217;<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Witness Alex MacNamara was on the town jetty and described seeing the plane flying low, shortly before it disappeared into the mangroves.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">&#8220;I saw it flying and then dipping quite low, and then I just assumed it had passed over the horizon \u2026 it was just a bit past the mangroves,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">&#8220;It looked like it was doing a sort of turn on an angle and then it was just dipping quite low.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">&#8220;It just looked like they [emergency services] were coordinating things from the shore; they had their walkie-talkies and some sort of satellite thing.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"A woman with black t-shirt looking away from camera\" class=\"Image_image__5tFYM ContentImage_image__DQ_cq\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/ed5adc99a0b236575487b066a489d9a3.jpeg\" loading=\"lazy\" data-component=\"Image\" data-lazy=\"true\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"Typography_base__sj2RP FigureCaption_text__zDxQ5 Typography_sizeMobile12__w_FPC Typography_lineHeightMobile20___U7Vr Typography_regular__WeIG6 Typography_colourInherit__dfnUx\" data-component=\"Typography\">Erica Gunyan was at Town Beach when she saw the plane go into the sea.
