Kidman, 58<\/strong>, and Baker, 56<\/strong>, star in the new Amazon Prime Video<\/strong> forensic thriller series based on the same-name book series by Patricia Cornwell<\/strong>, Scarpetta<\/strong>. The series premiered on the platform on March 11<\/strong>, and to promote it, the two were seen oozing affection at the NYC<\/strong> premiere, holding hands on the red carpet, and engaging in \u201cdeep conversations\u201d at the The Twenty Two <\/strong>hotel after-party.<\/p>\n

According to Woman\u2019s Day<\/strong><\/a>, the potential romance is a \u201cnightmare come true,\u201d as the country music<\/a> star feels very \u201cthreatened\u201d by Baker.<\/p>\n

\u201cSeeing Nicole and Simon holding hands was the equivalent of seeing his best mate with his missus and it did a number on him,\u201d a source told the magazine. \u201cHe knew it was natural for her to lean on Simon. He was also there for Naomi [Watts]<\/strong> after her split from Liev [Schreiber]<\/strong>. The difference is back then Simon wasn\u2019t single.\u201d<\/p>\n

In Scarpetta, Kidman and Baker play married couple Dr. Kay Scarpetta<\/strong> and Benton Wesley<\/strong>. Per the outlet, \u201cNicole Kidman says their chemistry \u2018just vibrates,\u2019 while Simon Baker coyly joked, \u2018I don\u2019t kiss and tell.\u2019\u201d The outlet\u2019s source says the two go way back, with Kidman being friends with Simon\u2019s ex-wife Rebecca Rigg<\/strong> and serving as the godmother to Baker\u2019s son, Harry Baker<\/strong>, who is 24<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Keith Urban \u2018Threatened\u2019 by Simon Baker<\/p>\n

As for Urban, the source for WD said, \u201c[He\u2019s] hoping they\u2019re just hamming it up for headlines. But even then it feels to him like it\u2019s a betrayal. Because both Nicole and Simon know how much even the hint of a romance between them will hurt him.\u201d<\/p>\n

They continued, \u201cHe already suspected they were getting close while filming,\u201d adding, \u201cThis is his worst nightmare come true. He hates that they\u2019re giving interviews about how close they are. He\u2019s in total shock that she would flaunt a new relationship so soon after their divorce. It\u2019s not what they agreed on for the sake of the girls.\u201d<\/p>\n

The source then added context about why Urban might feel so threatened that this is the real deal.<\/p>\n

Kidman and Urban\u2019s split became public September 2025<\/strong>, with the two finalizing their divorce<\/a> in January 2026<\/strong>. Following the news, Kidman shared with the public that\u2019s OK and ready to move on.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m always going to be moving toward what\u2019s good,” she told Variety<\/strong><\/a> on March 11<\/strong>. “What I\u2019m grateful for is my family and keeping them as is and moving forward. That\u2019s that. Everything else I don\u2019t discuss out of respect.”<\/p>\n
