JLL<\/a><\/b> has promoted Patrick Murphy <\/b>to head of New York brokerage, Commercial Observer has learned.<\/p>\n

Murphy, previously a vice chairman at the brokerage services giant, will remain based in Manhattan and will lead corporate brokerage and consulting services for JLL, according to a source familiar with the matter.<\/p>\n

Murphy will start in his new role immediately and report to Peter Riguardi<\/b>, the firm\u2019s chairman and president for the New York region. He will also work closely with JLL\u2019s leadership team in New York to advance the firm\u2019s position in that market.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m excited to help lead JLL\u2019s New York office as the firm continues to lead the industry in technological change,\u201d Murphy said in a statement. \u201cThe firm\u2019s depth of talent and resources positions us to provide unparalleled advisory services as clients make critical strategic real estate decisions.\u201d<\/p>\n

Murphy joined JLL in 2023 from Cushman & Wakefield<\/a><\/b>, where he had been executive vice chair in New York and a top office broker for more than seven years, CO previously reported<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Prior to C&W, Murphy spent 27 years at CBRE<\/a><\/b>, including a decade as an executive managing director for the firm\u2019s New York tri-state suburban office.<\/p>\n

Some of Murphy\u2019s major clients include tech company IBM<\/b>, professional services firm KPMG<\/b>, real estate development firm the LeFrak Organization<\/b>, global wealth management firm UBS Financial Services<\/b>, the Major League Baseball Players Association<\/b>, Morgan Stanley<\/b> and SL Green Realty<\/b>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cPatrick is deeply respected across the industry for his expertise, experience and decades-long relationships,\u201d Riguardi said in a statement. \u201cHis insight will strengthen our ability to deliver superior real estate solutions at a pivotal time for the market.\u201d<\/p>\n

News of Murphy\u2019s promotion comes after Michael Colacino<\/b> resigned from JLL as CEO of its Americas leasing advisory business in early February, after only a few weeks in the position, CO reported at the time<\/a>. Karen Brennan<\/b>, currently CEO of the firm\u2019s overall leasing advisory business, is filling Colacino\u2019s vacant position in the interim.<\/p>\n
