Despite being one of the most popular musicians of all time, John Lennon<\/a> still had his own insecurities when it came to other stars. In a resurfaced interview, Lennon once admitted that he was \u201cscared\u201d of Elvis Presley<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Bob<\/strong>] Dylan<\/strong> would be interesting because I think he made a great album in Blood on the Tracks, but I\u2019m still not keen on the backings. I think I could produce him great. And Presley. I\u2019d like to resurrect Elvis,\u201d Lennon told Rolling Stone during a 1975 interview, when asked which musicians he\u2019d most like to work with. \u201cBut I\u2019d be so scared of him I don\u2019t know whether I could do it. But I\u2019d like to do it. Dylan, I could do, but Presley would make me nervous.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cBut Dylan or Presley, somebody up there. I know what I\u2019d do with Presley. Make a rock \u2018n\u2019 roll album. Dylan doesn\u2019t need material. I\u2019d just make him some good backings. So if you\u2019re reading this Bob, you know\u2026.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, Lennon and Presley had previously crossed paths, and the \u201cKentucky Rain\u201d singer allegedly wasn\u2019t a fan of the Beatle due to his political stances.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis dislike of the pacifist Beatle was born from the night I took the Fab Four to his house for their first \u2014 and last \u2014 meeting,\u201d journalist Chris Hutchins, who introduced the two men, told the Daily Mail in 2011, per Express<\/a>. \u201cJohn had annoyed Presley by making his anti-war feelings known the moment he stepped into the massive lounge and spotted the table lamps \u2014 model wagons engraved with the message: \u2018All the way with LBJ.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cPresley allied himself with the FBI director Edgar Hoover and encouraged him to have Lennon thrown out of the US.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hutchins added that Lennon was vocal about his \u201chatred\u201d of President Lyndon B. Johnson because he \u201craised the stakes in the Vietnam War.\u201d Presley, on the other hand, was a supporter of Johnson and Lennon\u2019s opinion rubbed him the wrong way.<\/p>\n
