The Minnesota Vikings have added another veteran to their quarterback room.<\/p>\n
Carson Wentz<\/a> is re-signing with the Vikings on a one-year deal, NFL Network Insiders Tom Pelissero, Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported Thursday, per sources informed of the move. The team later announced the news.<\/p>\n The move comes after the Vikings inked<\/a> Kyler Murray<\/a> to a one-year deal last week to battle J.J. McCarthy<\/a> for the starting gig. Retaining Wentz aims at safeguarding against the quarterback issues that sank their 2025 campaign, in which undrafted free agent Max Brosmer<\/a> was forced to start two games.<\/p>\n Wentz started five games in place of McCarthy last season, performing relatively well in Kevin O’Connell’s offense before a dislocated shoulder<\/a> knocked him off course. Wentz attempted to play through the injury, but was clearly hindered and eventually shut down<\/a> for the season.
