The City of Coquitlam confirms to Global News that the slide happened on Thursday morning on Pipeline Road, south of the watershed facility.<\/p>\n
It is not clear if there are any injuries, but Coquitlam Search and Rescue says four homes are cut off and two homes have debris on the property.<\/p>\n

Six people and a dog have been rescued, search and rescue confirmed.<\/p>\n
\u201cGeotech determined that the slide appears to be stable at this time and it\u2019s safe for our rescuers to go in,\u201d Ian Cunnings with Coquitlam Search and Rescue, said.<\/p>\n
He added that the homes do not appear to be structurally damaged, but they will undergo further assessments.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe saturated soils, no question, contributed to this and, you know, it\u2019s too early to tell further impacts, but the quick assessment by the geotech determined that the area appears to be stable for now,\u201d Cunnings added.<\/p>\n

Pipeline Road is blocked near Upper Coquitlam Park for safety reasons.<\/p>\n
A helicopter can be seen in the area.<\/p>\n
BC Hydro says an outage was caused by a mud or snow slide around 5:15 a.m. and power remains off in the area around Kamikaze Field, the water treatment plant and the sockeye hatchery.<\/p>\n
