\n\tAs Hollywood continues to mourn James Van Der Beek<\/a>\u2018s death, Marlon Wayans<\/a> recently recalled the actor\u2019s cameo in Scary Movie<\/a> (2000).<\/p>\n

\n\tThe actor and franchise co-creator, who reprises his role as Shorty Meeks in Scary Movie 6, premiering June 5, said that Van Der Beek \u201cwas cool as hell for even doing it,\u201d making a quick appearance in one early scene as his eponymous Dawson\u2019s Creek character.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHe was huge on Dawson\u2019s Creek,\u201d Wayans told Entertainment Weekly<\/a>. \u201cHe was like, \u2018Oh, I\u2019m game,\u2019 and I was like, \u2018bet.’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn the scene, which parodied Scream (1996), Cindy Campbell (Anna Faris) begins making out with her boyfriend Bobby (Jon Abrahams) in her bedroom when the WB show\u2019s theme song, Paula Cole\u2019s \u2018I Don\u2019t Want to Wait\u2019, starts playing, summoning a confused Dawson to her window.<\/p>\n

\n\tWayans recalled, \u201cIt was quick, but the audience loved it. \u2018Oh! Wrong, wrong, wrong set!\u2019 And he just leaves. It was just the coolest moment.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tVan Der Beek played the titular teen in Dawson\u2019s Creek for its six-season run on The WB from 1998 to 2003, launching his onscreen career.<\/p>\n

\n\tLast month, James\u2019 wife Kimberly announced that he died at age 48<\/a> after revealing his colorectal cancer diagnosis<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\t:Our beloved James David Van Der Beek passed peacefully this morning,\u201d the family wrote on Instagram. \u201cHe met his final days with courage, faith, and grace. There is much to share regarding his wishes, love for humanity and the sacredness of time. Those days will come.
