{"id":669550,"date":"2026-03-20T16:49:21","date_gmt":"2026-03-20T16:49:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/669550\/"},"modified":"2026-03-20T16:49:21","modified_gmt":"2026-03-20T16:49:21","slug":"1-22m-design-contract-approved-for-williams-trace-boulevard-reconstruction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/669550\/","title":{"rendered":"$1.22M design contract approved for Williams Trace Boulevard reconstruction"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\tImprovements are slated to begin on Sugar Land&#8217;s Williams Trace Boulevard in 2027.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The big picture<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At a March 17 meeting, Sugar Land City Council approved a $1.22 million design contract with Edminster, Hinshaw, Russ, and Associates (EHRA) Inc. for the reconstruction of Williams Trace Boulevard from Oyster Creek to Hwy. 6.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;&gt;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The details<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In addition to the reconstruction of the four-lane divided road, the project will also:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Widen the existing sidewalk to a 10-foot shared-use path<\/li>\n<li>Improve traffic signals at intersections<\/li>\n<li>Add a triple left-turn lane at Hwy. 6<\/li>\n<li>Remove the northbound left-turn lane at Quarry Hill Road<\/li>\n<li>Improve drainage and inlets as well as manhole replacement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The design will be funded entirely by Fort Bend County, with the expected $22 million total project cost to be split between the city and county, Senior Engineering Manager Huy Ton said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Looking ahead<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Design is expected to begin this April and be completed by April 2027, Ton said.
