A Jeffrey Epstein look-alike who went viral<\/a> for the \u201ccrazy\u201d resemblance said the comparisons started when The Post ran a photo of the powerful pedophile on its front page in 2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cPalm Beach Pete\u201d\u2014\u00a0 a square-jawed, silver-haired Epstein dead-ringer from Florida \u2014 said he was first flagged for the uncanny likeness after The Big Apple\u2019s favorite tabloid began covering the sex trafficking case.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was in The Post, it was on TV all the time \u2013 it was the \u2018it\u2019 story, and I looked like him and I would be walking down Fifth Avenue, and tourists would circle around me and I felt that vibe, because I\u2019m a New Yorker, so you get that vibe when people are doing stuff like that around you, and the Post was definitely part of that ammunition,\u201d the 71-year-old doppleganger told The Post Friday.<\/p>\n

\u201cPalm Beach Pete\u201d said he was first compared to Jeffrey Epstein after The Big Apple\u2019s favorite tabloid began covering the sex trafficking case. @amposey__27\/Instagram<\/p>\n

Pete, a former real estate executive and avid tennis player who was born on the Upper East Side, said attention ramped up after news of Epstein\u2019s 2019 arrest landed on the cover of The Post.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cIt happened all the time in New York City and the Hamptons \u2013 it was always happening,\u201d he said about being compared to the perverted financier, who died of suicide that same year<\/a> while locked up on sex-trafficking charges.<\/p>\n

Pete, who did not want to give his last name, found himself unexpectedly going viral this week after someone filmed him driving his convertible down a highway in the Sunshine State \u2014 sparking fresh conspiracy theories that the powerful predator had returned to Florida and was living it up.<\/p>\n

He said he was en route to a tennis match at the time.<\/p>\n

\u201cEpstein is alive! Epstein is alive!\u201d the man who shot the video yelled, sending social media into meltdown. The Instagram clip of him driving had raked in million likes as of Friday.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it went viral last Thursday or Friday,\u201d he explained. \u201cI was out for dinner with my girlfriend and some Generation Zers were talking, like, whispering, and she said, \u2018Peter, they\u2019re talking about you,\u2019 so I went over to their table and said, \u2018Hey guys, are you talking about me?\u2019 Non-threatening. And they said, \u2018Yes, are you the guy that went viral?\u2019 I said, \u2018That\u2019s me,\u2019\u201d \u2014 at which point the group asked him to take a photo.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow [the comparisons are] constant because I\u2019m viral \u2026 It\u2019s never been to this magnitude or degree of views and likes and eyeballs. I\u2019m feeling people staring at me,\u201d Pete said, adding he has since launched his own Instagram<\/a> page dubbed not.epstein.<\/p>\n

He said he woke up Friday morning to more than 21,000 followers \u2014 up from just 3,000 the previous day.<\/p>\n

And as much as he\u2019s relishing the attention, Pete, who moved to the Sunshine State about two and a half years ago, doesn\u2019t love being associated with the convicted pedophile.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t feel good about it \u2013 I don\u2019t want to be associated with him. He was a monster, a terrible human being and I have nothing to do with that,\u201d Pete said. \u201cIt\u2019s kind of amusing that all this is going on because of how I look, but it\u2019s not who I am, obviously, and he\u2019s dead and he was just a bad, bad human being.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

The Palm Beach resident, however, was confident he\u2019s crossed paths with Epstein before at parties in the 1990s.<\/p>\n

\u201cI actually knew his brother because his brother used to have these two big dogs \u2013 these two standard poodles \u2013 and he used to walk them around the Garment District and I said, \u2018Wow, nice dogs,\u2019 and we got friendly,\u201d Pete recalled. <\/p>\n
