But even before Henry arrived, the two had created the Instagram account <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/thebrooklyncorgi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">@thebrooklyncorgi<\/a>, dreaming of the day their perfect dog would come along.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0The couple applied to adopt a dog in Torres\u2019s home state of California, and during the holidays, they got the call.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe went back for a holiday, picked him up, brought him back on a plane, and he became a city dog ever since,\u201d Stein-Sayles said.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-240098 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/IMG_0082.jpg\" alt=\"corgi henry with his parent\" width=\"700\" height=\"525\"  \/>Daniel Stein-Sayles began posting regularly during the pandemic, helping Henry gain thousands of followers in just over a year.Photo by Emma Delahanty\n<\/p>\n<p>Henry left the West Coast for Brooklyn just before the height of the pandemic. Stuck at home during the shutdown, Stein-Sayles found extra time to post regularly to the account. Within a year and a half, Henry had more than 15,000 followers.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt took a lot of time and energy early on,\u201d Stein-Sayles said. \u201cHe\u2019s a little star, he\u2019s got the face for it, he\u2019s got the personality for it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While navigating a saturated market of corgi accounts, Henry stood out because of a rare recessive genetic mutation that gave him a fluffy <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pembrokesofwalnutcreek.com\/long-haired-tri-color-corgi-beauty-and-uniqueness-in-one\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">tricolor coat<\/a> of tan, black and white. With increased traffic on Henry\u2019s account, his owners were able to secure partnerships and brand deals, bringing in extra income that even covered his pet insurance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was paying his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brooklynpaper.com\/bk-veterinary-clinics-shelter-crisis\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">own bills<\/a> for a little while,\u201d Stein-Sayles said.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-240099\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/IMG_0089.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"525\"  \/>Dressed for snowy weather, Henry strolls through New York City in the outfits that helped make him an online star.Photo by Emma Delahanty\n<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"147\">The account now has more than 22,000 followers, and although posts have become less frequent, Henry is still recognized on the streets of Brooklyn.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"149\" data-end=\"425\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">To keep up with the account, much of the content is filmed in batches and reused over time. After the pandemic, as work schedules returned to normal, Stein-Sayles began posting less often. Even so, many longtime followers have stayed, and some still recognize Henry in person.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are people genuinely that over the years, have been following him for his whole life or for years and love this dog,\u201d he said.\n<\/p>\n<p>Despite his celebrity status in New York, Henry leads a simple life at home, filled with walks, naps and playtime at his favorite park, Prospect Park.
