Bruno Fernandes\u2019 remarkable season has now seen him break a record set for Manchester United by Ryan Giggs 19 years ago.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This season, there are realistic shouts for Bruno Fernandes to win the Premier League Player of the Year award<\/a>, with his performance levels unmatched by anyone else in England.<\/p>\n

With eight goals and 16 assists, it\u2019s a season that now sees United hoping to keep Fernandes<\/a> after he was previously tipped to leave in 2026.<\/p>\n

Even on a disappointing night against Bournemouth<\/a>, Fernandes still individually had a good outing, adding to his tally and beating a Ryan Giggs<\/a> record.<\/p>\n

Fernandes has been amazing this season, performing to levels creatively that he hasn\u2019t ever reached before, despite playing out of position most of the year.<\/p>\n

Last week, Fernandes smashed David Beckham\u2019s record<\/a> for assists in a Premier League season as a United player. Now, he\u2019s beaten a Ryan Giggs record.<\/p>\n

According to Opta<\/a>, Fernandes\u2019 three chances created against Bournemouth brought him to 101 for the season. <\/p>\n

He has managed this in just 28 games, which is the fewest appearances to reach 100 on record for United, beating Giggs\u2019 29 games back in the 2006-07 season.<\/p>\n

On average, this amounts to roughly 3.6 chances created per 90. Which is a ridiculous level to uphold over a season, let alone over the course of multiple.<\/p>\n

United\u2019s second goal WAS NOT given as a Bruno Fernandes assist \u2013 Should it have been? <\/p>\n

He still needs four more to equal the Premier League record with seven games left\u2026<\/p>\n

Fernandes\u2019 exit after the 2026 World Cup has always felt likely; however, this season has proved that selling the club captain right now would be a poor decision.<\/p>\n

Fernandes remains at the peak of his powers and shows no signs of slowing down right now, almost improving creatively with age. <\/p>\n

Injuries aren\u2019t an issue for Fernandes, and his quality is not dependent on physicality. There is a good chance Fernandes would be starting for United for another two or three seasons.<\/p>\n

So letting him go this summer would almost certainly end up proving to be a bad decision.<\/p>\n

Club legendary status is his, and United shouldn\u2019t be selling, as he can now realistically see a title challenge in the near future. At the very least, United should extend his contract to avoid losing him for free in a couple of years.<\/p>\n

Only 31, he has a lot more to give.<\/p>\n
