(KTTC) \u2013 Mayo Clinic is now asking a doctor to pay more than $250,000, after the same doctor sued the hospital in 2023.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Dr. Michael Joyner sued Mayo Clinic, alleging it had tried to silence him after sharing research findings. In February, Mayo Clinic won the lawsuit in an Olmsted County jury trial.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Now, the hospital wants Joyner to pay $256,000 for the cost of legal experts and transcription services. Joyner\u2019s legal team, however, is objecting the hospital\u2019s request.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Mayo Clinic provided the following statement: <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"blockquote | fst-italic bg-light p-4 border-start\">\n<p class=\"mb-2\">Mayo Clinic has filed a petition to recover costs incurred because of the multiple causes of action and damages claims asserted by Dr. Joyner\u2019s representatives during the litigation.
