Reese and Johnson won a national title together in 2023, beating Caitlin Clark<\/a>‘s Iowa Hawkeyes in a chippy yet highly compelling national championship game.<\/p>\n

A year later, Reese was selected No. 7 overall by the Chicago Sky in the 2024 WNBA<\/a> Draft, leaving former running mate Johnson to hold down the fort in Louisiana.<\/p>\n

The friendship between Johnson and Reese began to cool when the latter made the jump to the pros, with Flau’jae admitting “we aren’t as close as we used to be.”<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, the 22-year-old guard has continued to improve her game without Reese as she gears up for her final Women’s NCAA Tournament run.<\/p>\n

Johnson — who is expected to enter the WNBA Draft after March Madness<\/a> — is quite the star in her own right.<\/p>\n

She’s one of the highest-earning college basketball players from\u00a0name, image, and likeness\u00a0(NIL) deals, having signed lucrative endorsement deals with the likes of Puma,\u00a0Meta,\u00a0JBL, and\u00a0Taco Bell.<\/p>\n

According to On3<\/a>, Johnson has an NIL worth of $1.5million, placing her 47th on their list of the most valuable student-athletes in the country.<\/p>\n

The 5ft 10in baller is the highest woman on the list, replacing former LSU gymnastics<\/a> and social media sensation, Olivia Dunne<\/a>, who has now left college.<\/p>\n

Flau’jae Johnson<\/strong>‘s budding rap career and famous rapper father<\/p>\n

The Tigers star, featured on Amazon<\/a> Prime’s ‘The Money Game: LSU’ alongside the likes of Reese, Dunne and Washington Commanders<\/a> quarterback Jayden Daniels<\/a>, also happens to be a rapper signed to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation.<\/p>\n

Johnson is the daughter of the rapper Camoflauge, real name Jason Johnson, a Georgia native known for his songs ‘Cut Friends’ and ‘Laying My Stunt Down’, as well as his final album, ‘Keepin It Real’.<\/p>\n

Jason was tragically shot and killed in 2003 — six months before Flau’jae was born — in a case that’s still unsolved.<\/p>\n

Flau’jae has continued her father’s rap legacy while chasing her hoops dream. She released an album in February 2025 following the release of her debut studio EP\u00a0Best of Both Worlds in 2024, and currently has nearly 129,000 monthly listeners on her Spotify profile.<\/p>\n

She said the eight-track project stems from her personal experiences around love and heartbreak, and will showcase a more refined approach to production than her previous release.<\/p>\n

“It’s getting cold and I know y’all boo’d up, RnB 4 activated,” Flau’jae said about her album <\/p>\n

“I’m pivoting, I’m getting older and I got more to talk about going through heartbreak and relationships. So y’all gonna love it bro.”<\/p>\n

Johnson’s 2026 WNBA Draft status amid final NCAA Tournament run<\/p>\n

Johnson has not yet declared for the WNBA draft, but addressed speculation on her podcast last year after fans were desperate to know if the 2024-25 season would be her last with the Tigers before going pro.<\/p>\n

“Actually I have a secret, and I guess the best time to put it out would be now, on my podcast,” Johnson said<\/a> at the time.<\/p>\n

“After heavy consideration, and just talking with my team, my family, and everybody just involved in my athletic career, I want to let y’all know that I will be… I’m just playing.”<\/p>\n

Johnson then busted out laughing before saying, “Everybody keep asking me, just give it time, bro. Give it time… I’m just having fun right now, playing some of my best basketball. But I keep seeing in Twitter, everybody keeps asking… it’s up in the air right now.<\/p>\n

“If you don’t know, I am eligible for the [WNBA] Draft, this year. So I’m kind of just letting God guide me,” she added. “Whenever I feel that push or [feel that] it’s time, then it’s time… But nah, I really don’t know. I’m just hooping right now.”<\/p>\n

Currently, Johnson is a consensus top-6 draft pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft. Most experts project the her be picked up No. 6 overall in the first round by one of the league’s new expansion teams, including the Toronto Tempo.<\/p>\n

Other mock drafts have Johnson coming off the board at No. 5 to the Chicago Sky, which would pair her up with former teammate Reese.<\/p>\n

Before all of that, though, Johnson is no doubt focused on her fourth and final year in college and delivering LSU another national title.<\/p>\n

The No. 2 LSU Tigers destroyed the No. 15 Jacksonville Dolphins, 116-58, to advance to the second round of March Madness.<\/p>\n

LSU had seven players in double figures after shooting 60% from the field, including Johnson, who led all scorers with a game-high 20 points and five rebounds to go along with three steals.<\/p>\n

“We’ve been practicing, practicing, practicing, having great intentional practices. That’s what we’ve been doing in practice and how focused we’ve been,” Johnson said.<\/p>\n
