He took someone away who just started to live his life.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Darly Zacarias, the father of a 10-year-old boy, was killed by an allegedly drugged up driver in Harlem on Thursday. Facebook \/ Darly Zacarias<\/p>\n<p>Crosby, 49, was driving a Red Hyundai Tucson while high on PCP and marijuana when he allegedly struck Zacarias, 28, and a 33-year-old bicyclist near 125th Street and Adam Clayton Powell Boulevard around 8 p.m. Thursday, according to court records.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/03\/20\/us-news\/shocking-video-shows-sparks-fly-as-out-of-control-driver-appears-to-drag-cyclists-down-busy-harlem-street-in-fatal-crash\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The victims were dragged<\/a> down the busy thoroughfare as sparks flew from under the vehicle.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Pedestrians scrambled to get out of his way before he barreled into a parked NYPD cruiser, footage showed.<\/p>\n<p>The second victim was in Harlem Hospital in serious condition.<\/p>\n<p>Crosby was charged with manslaughter and driving while high, cops said. Robert Miller for NY Post<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/03\/20\/us-news\/driver-who-fatally-struck-cyclist-in-harlem-has-lengthy-rap-sheet-with-history-of-vehicle-crime-duis\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Crosby has 19 prior arrests on his record<\/a>, including one for aggravated vehicle assault in June 2020, police sources said.<\/p>\n<p>In that case, he allegedly struck three pedestrians and hit multiple vehicles on Jerome Avenue and West Fordham Road in the Bronx, according to records.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Bronx District Attorney\u2019s office lowered the assault charge and prosecuted him on reckless driving and reckless endangerment. He pleaded guilty and got probation.<\/p>\n<p>Kevin Crosby, 45, told prosecutors he had injested PCP and pot before driving Thursday. Lone Pine Press for NY Post<\/p>\n<p>The victim\u2019s aunt was beside herself with grief.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe took a father\u00a0whose kid was only 10 years old,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n<p>The boy turned 10 the day his father was killed, she added.<\/p>\n<p>Zacarias came to the country nearly 20 years ago with his mother, who died when he was 10, according to his aunt said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The victim worked to send money back to his sick father in the Dominican Republic, his family said. Obtained by NY Post<\/p>\n<p>His 75-year-old grandmother, Gisela Zacarias, raised him and his brother and sister, but was unable to speak \u2014 because she couldn\u2019t stop crying.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Zacarias worked to support them and his family in the Dominican Republic, especially his father, who has a medical condition, the aunt said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was just very happy,\u201d the aunt said of her nephew. \u201cHis happiness was contagious.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Crosby had 19 prior arrests on his record including one for aggravated vehicle assault in 2020, police sources said. Christopher Sadowski for NY Post<\/p>\n<p>The aunt can\u2019t forget watching video of him getting hit by the speed-demon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt came and hit him from behind,\u201d she said in shock. \u201cThat\u2019s what keeps playing in my mind, and the moment I identified his body in the morgue. I touched his face. I recognized him because of the tattoos on his arms.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The aunt had pleaded with Zacarias to stop doing deliveries, she said.<\/p>\n<p>Another man was also struck and seroiusly injured, cops said. Obtained by NY Post<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI told him to find another job,\u201d she said. \u201cMy mother told him to stop too. We thought it was a very dangerous job, but I never thought his life would end because of someone else\u2019s bad action.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Now she has to tell Zacarias\u2019 son that his dad is gone.<\/p>\n<p>The aunt said the victim\u2019s son didn\u2019t know what happened to his dad.
