Chappell Roan has spoken out after an incident involving hotel security reportedly left Jude Law\u2019s 11-year-old daughter in tears.<\/a><\/p>\n

The pop star, 28, said that it was not her personal security guard who confronted Jude Law and Catherine Harding\u2019s daughter at a hotel in S\u00e3o Paulo, Brazil, despite claims made by the girl\u2019s stepdad and Brazilian soccer player Jorginho Frello.<\/a><\/p>\n

“I’m just gonna tell my half of the story of what happened today with a mother and child who were involved with a security guard who was not my personal security,\u201d Roan said in a video Sunday morning on her Instagram Story, adding that she \u201cdidn\u2019t even see\u201d Harding and her daughter.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo one came up to me. No one bothered me. Like, I was just sitting at breakfast in my hotel,\u201d she said, insisting that she did not ask a security guard to talk to the mother and child. \u201cThey did not come up to me. They weren’t doing anything. It’s unfair for security to just assume someone doesn’t have good intentions when they have no reason to believe.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued: \u201cI do not hate people who are fans of my music. I do not hate children. Like, that is crazy. I’m sorry to the mother and child that someone was assuming something that you would do something, and that if he felt uncomfortable, it makes me really sad. You did not deserve that.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Grammy-winning singer, born Kayleigh Rose Amstutz, is currently in S\u00e3o Paulo for Lollapalooza Brazil. Her representatives did not immediately return The Independent\u2019s request for comment.<\/p>\n

Frello, 34, alleged in an Instagram post shared Saturday that Roan sent a security guard to accuse his stepdaughter of disrespecting and harassing Roan after the child had reportedly smiled at the singer while passing her table at the hotel restaurant.<\/p>\n

The athlete said a member of Roan\u2019s security team approached the pair and spoke \u201cextremely aggressively\u201d to his stepdaughter.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy daughter was extremely scared and cried a lot,\u201d Frello wrote. \u201cHonestly, I don\u2019t know in what world just passing by a table and looking\u2026 can be considered harassment.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cIt’s sad to see this kind of treatment coming from those who should understand the importance of fans.\u201d<\/p>\n

Frello, who described the situation as \u201cvery upsetting\u201d, said he and the child \u2014 who was so excited to see Roan that she had \u201cmade a sign\u201d \u2014 had been staying at the same hotel as the star \u201cby coincidence\u201d.<\/p>\n

Roan has raised eyebrows over fan interactions in the past<\/a> after her 2023 album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess skyrocketed her to fame.<\/p>\n

She recently shared a statement telling fans to respect her boundaries, saying: \u201cI chose this career path because I love music and art and honoring my inner child, I do not accept harassment of any kind because I chose this path, nor do I deserve it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I\u2019m on stage, when I\u2019m performing, when I\u2019m in drag, when I\u2019m at a work event, when I\u2019m doing press… I am at work. Any other circumstance, I am not in work mode. I am clocked out,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
