{"id":675362,"date":"2026-03-23T05:57:18","date_gmt":"2026-03-23T05:57:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/675362\/"},"modified":"2026-03-23T05:57:18","modified_gmt":"2026-03-23T05:57:18","slug":"troy-terrys-overtime-goal-lifts-ducks-past-sabres","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/675362\/","title":{"rendered":"Troy Terry&#8217;s overtime goal lifts Ducks past Sabres"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Troy Terry scored on a breakaway 1:29 into overtime for his second goal of the game after Mikael Granlund tied it late in regulation and <a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/sports\/hockey\/ducks\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the Ducks<\/a> rallied to defeat the Buffalo Sabres <a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nhl.com\/gamecenter\/buf-vs-ana\/2026\/03\/22\/2025021117\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">6-5 on Sunday<\/a> night.<\/p>\n<p>Anaheim ended Buffalo\u2019s <a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nhl.com\/standings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">seven-game road winning streak<\/a> when Tage Thompson couldn\u2019t keep in the puck in the Ducks\u2019 zone and Terry held on a 2-on-0 break to score on a backhander.<\/p>\n<p>Granlund tied the score at 5 with 1:44 remaining in the third period on a power play with Ville Husso pulled for an extra attacker.<\/p>\n<p>Chris Kreider and Jackson LaCombe had power-play goals in the first period, Beckett Sennecke also scored, Husso made 24 saves and the Ducks have won consecutive games as part of a four-game points streak.<\/p>\n<p>Alex Lyon had his 10-game road winning streak \u2014 tied for the third-longest by a goaltender in NHL history \u2014 snapped after giving up six goals on 33 shots. That included giving up goals to Sennecke and Terry on two of the Ducks\u2019 four shots in the second period.<\/p>\n<p>Alex Tuch, Josh Doan, Jack Quinn, Owen Power and Zach Benson scored for the Sabres, who extended their franchise-record road points streak to 14 games. It was their second loss in the last 14 games overall.<\/p>\n<p>Lyon hadn\u2019t lost a road start since Dec. 8, when Buffalo was last in the Eastern Conference with a 2-9-2 record outside of upstate New York.
