{"id":675949,"date":"2026-03-23T12:21:32","date_gmt":"2026-03-23T12:21:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/675949\/"},"modified":"2026-03-23T12:21:32","modified_gmt":"2026-03-23T12:21:32","slug":"five-ways-north-texans-can-benefit-from-local-workforce-programs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/675949\/","title":{"rendered":"Five ways North Texans can benefit from local workforce programs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">As <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/future-of-north-texas\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">more companies<\/a> expand or relocate to North Texas, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/education\/2025\/08\/27\/does-dallas-need-to-import-workers-no-way-says-workforce-czar\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">local workers<\/a> are being asked to keep up with fast-changing job requirements.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">Workforce agencies sit at the crossroads of employers, educators and job seekers, and they are rolling out new tools to help residents find child care, training and clearer paths into <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/education\/2025\/12\/26\/seeking-better-pay-north-texas-short-term-job-programs-might-help\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">better-paying<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/business\/economy\/2025\/12\/27\/what-texas-jobs-will-see-increased-growth-in-next-several-years\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">rapidly-growing<\/a> careers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">Phedra Redifer, executive director of Workforce Solutions for North Central Texas, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/education\/2026\/03\/04\/texas-leaders-link-states-growth-to-child-care-skills-and-adaptable-workers\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">recently<\/a> sketched out how her agency plans to use its position to expand opportunities across the region. Licensed programs often have room to serve more children but cannot find enough qualified staff or pay competitive wages. <\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">For families, that means long <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/education\/2025\/02\/12\/can-texas-chip-away-at-its-child-care-waitlist\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">waitlists<\/a> or no <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/education\/2025\/04\/14\/whats-at-risk-for-north-texas-families-as-child-care-deserts-expand\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">nearby options<\/a>. Workforce Solutions has leaned into partnerships in sectors such as infrastructure and construction and health care, Redifer said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">\u201cWe are now sitting at the table with employers, [regional] chambers, economic developers, universities and community colleges to co-design, whether that is an apprenticeship model, an aligned curriculum or a rapid response to an employer\u2019s major expansion or layoff,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">The goal is to make it easier for employers to find skilled workers and for residents to access those opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>Data-driven decision making<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">Making decisions guided by data and shaped by employers can help ensure the programs job seekers enroll in lead to real openings and long-term careers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">Looking ahead, Redifer said the next chapter for her organization will be defined in part by \u201cdata informed, business-driven decision making.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">That means aligning services and investments with real-time labor market information and direct input from employers across North Texas.
