Nostalgia will play big this week as Woodstock-era favorite Santana reschedules a show, \u201970s AOR staple Styx brings its latest tour to town and emo-punk biggies Hawthorne Heights celebrate the 20th anniversary of their second album, If Only You Were Lonely.<\/p>\n

However, if you\u2019re more apt to explore something recent, there\u2019s also room for that as well. Let\u2019s take a look. <\/p>\n

Thursday, March 26<\/strong><\/p>\n

Styx<\/strong><\/p>\n

Millennials rejoice! Your parents\u2019 favorite \u201970s hard-rock band is on back on the road, armed with its array of singable radio hits and whimsical ballads. After 50 years as a band, the members of Styx appear not to have tired of playing \u201cCome Sail Away\u201d and \u201cMr. Roboto\u201d every night. The band does make new music, so expect to hear something from its latest album, Circling From Above, in the setlist. $80 and up, 7:30 p.m., Majestic Theatre, 224 E. Snow Tha Product<\/strong><\/p>\n

Since her breakout in 2011, staccato bilingual rapper Snow Tha Product has made regular tour stops in San Antonio that have strengthened her local following. This time, the San Jose, California-based artist is supporting her recent album Before I Crashout, which taps into anxieties surrounding relationships, politics and social media. She also unapologetically dives into these topics in her freewheeling podcast EVERYNIGHTNIGHTS. Sold out, 7:30 p.m., Aztec Theatre, 104 N. Hawthorne Heights<\/strong><\/p>\n

Emo breakout stars Hawthorne Heights are headed back to down for another nostalgia fest, this time with support from bands LetLive and Creeper. The headliner is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its second album, If Only You Were Lonely, which also was the last effort to feature guitarist and vocalist Casey Calvert before his untimely passing. It\u2019s gonna be a night full of phone lights, memories and probably even some moshing. $42.59, 7 p.m., Vibes Event Center, 1211 E. Holy <\/strong>Wave<\/strong><\/p>\n

Holy Wave are one of Austin\u2019s finest purveyor\u2019s of gauzy psychedelic garage-rock, putting the group in the company of The Black Angels and Allah Las, but with a pleasing organ that washes through the mix. The music is largely mellow, but it\u2019s capable of taking your mind to interesting places. Locals Sunjammer and Mockingbird Express open, offering a chance to catch two of SA\u2019s best garage bands in action as well. $17, 9 p.m., Lonesome Rose, 2114 N. Santana<\/strong><\/p>\n

After postponing a San Antonio performance scheduled for last April following his onstage collapse during a soundcheck, Carlos Santana is giving the Alamo City another shot this weekend. Though his tour manager originally cited dehydration as the reason for the collapse, the guitarist and bandleader was later found to have contracted COVID-19. A living legend of the hippie generation, Santana is known for groovy psychedelic Latin rock classics such as \u201cBlack Magic Woman\u201d and \u201cOye Como Va.\u201d The ax man first shot to national fame at Woodstock with a rapturous 11-minute rendition of the instrumental \u201cSoul Sacrifice\u201d before the band\u2019s debut album had even been released. Since then, his legacy has only solidified. The 10-time Grammy winner and three-time Latin Grammy winner has also been inducted into the Rock \u2018n\u2019 Roll Hall of Fame and was ranked as the 20th best guitarist of all time in 2015 by Rolling Stone magazine.
